Teaser trailer and poster for omnibus film “Ten Years Japan”

Teaser trailer and poster added for upcoming omnibus film “Ten Years Japan.” The film is produced by Hirokazu Koreeda who just won the top prize at this year;s Cannes Film Festival for his film “Shoplifters.” The film features 5 short stories dealing with issues like A.I., nuclear power, digital society, aging society and military draft. Cast members include Satoru Kawaguchi, Jun Kunimura, Hana Sugisaki, Chizuru Ikewaki and Taiga.

“Ten Years Japan” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Shun Oguri cast in live-action film “Hibiki”

Shun Oguri is cast in live-action film “Hibiki” starring Yurina Hirate (‘Keyakizaka46’). The movie is based on manga “Hibiki: Shousetsuka ni Naru Houhou” by Mitsuharu Yanamoto and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. For “Hibiki,” Shun Oguri will play Shunpei Yamamoto. He is a novelist and aspires to win the Akutagawa Prize.

Filming for “Hibiki” finished June 1, 2018 and the movie will be released September 14, 2018 in Japan.

Shuhei Nomura & Yurina Yanagi cast in movie “Junpei, Think Again”

Shuhei Nomura & Yurina Yanagi are cast in movie “Junpei, Think Again” (literal title). The film is based on 2011 novel “Junpei, Kangaenaose” by Hideo Okuda and directed by Toshiyuki Morioka. Other novels by Hideo Okuda that were adapted into films and drama series include “South Bound” and “Dr. Irabu, the Mental Specialist.” In the film Shuhei Nomura will play low level yakuza Junpei Sakamoto. He is tasked to kill a high ranking yakuza from a rival group. He then meets an OL played by Yurina Yanagi.

“Junpei, Think Again” will be released September 22, 2018 in Japan.

Yuko Takeuchi cast in movie “The Travelling Cat Chronicles”

Yuko Takeuchi is cast for a supporting role in movie “The Travelling Cat Chronicles” starring Sota Fukushi. Movie is based on novel “Tabineko Ripoto” by Hiro Arikawa and directed by Koichiro Miki. For the film, Yuko Takeuchi will play Noriko. Her character is the aunt of Satoru (Sota Fukushi). Satoru goes on a road trip to find a new home for his cat Nana.

“The Travelling Cat Chronicles” will be released October 26, 2018 in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for live-action film “Nisekoi”

Supporting cast announced for live-action film “Nisekoi” starring Kento Nakajima (‘Sexy Zone’), Ayami Nakajo and Natsumi Ikema. Now cast in supporting roles are Yuta Kishi (‘King ＆ Prince’), Daigo (‘BREAKERZ’), Haruka Shimazaki, Marika Matsumoto, Kaede Aono and Hana Kawamura. The film is based on manga series “Nisekoi” by Naoshi Komi and follows two high school students whose parents lead rival yakuza groups. For “Nisekoi,” Yuta Kishi will play Shu Maiko. He is friends with Raku Ichijo (Kento Nakajima). Daigo will play the bodyguard of Chitoge Kirisaki (Ayami Nakajo) and Haruka Shimazaki will play Marika Tachibana. She has liked Raku Ichijo since she was little.

“Nisekoi” will be released December 21, 2018 in Japan.
