Teppei Koike cast in TBS-MBS live-action drama series and live-action film “Are You Ready? Hey You Girl!”

Teppei Koike is cast in upcoming TBS-MBS live-action drama series “Are You Ready? Hey You Girl!” & live-action film “Are You Ready? Hey You Girl!.” For the two titles, Teppei Koike will play Takatsugu Masaki. He works as an art teacher at a high school where Towa Furuya (Taishi Nakagawa) attends. He actually becomes a love rival of Towa Furuya. Story for the drama series is set prior to the live-action film. Both titles are based on manga series “Kakugo wa Iika Soko no Joshi” by Nana Shiiba.

TBS-MBS live-action drama series “Are You Ready? Hey You Girl!” will first air June 24, 2018 and live-action film “Are You Ready? Hey You Girl!” will be released October 12, 2018 in Japan.

Yudai Chiba to make cameo appearance in movie “Run! T High School Basketball Club”

Yudai Chiba is set to make a cameo appearance in movie “Run! T High School Basketball Club” starring Jun Shison, Hayato Sano and Akari Hayami. For the movie, Yudai Chiba will play Kazuki Hojo. His character is a handsome high school teacher. The bottom still image below is character visuals of Jun Shison, Hayato Sano, Junki Tozuka, Kanta Sato and Katsuhiro Suzuki. The film is based on novel “Hashire! T Ko Basuketto Bu” by Hiroshi Matsuzaki.

“Run! T High School Basketball Club” will be released November 3, 2018 in Japan.

Trailer for movie “Lenses on Her Heart”

Trailer for movie “Lenses on Her Heart” starring Hiroto Kanai and Chizuru Ikewaki. Movie is based on 2015 novel “Kirakira Megane” by Akio Morisawa and directed by Kazutoshi Inudo. Other novels adapted into films by Akio Morisawa include “Tsugaru,” “Cape Nostalgia” and “Natsumi’s Firefly.” Story for the film follows a young man who finds a business card in a used book he purchased. He tracks down that person.

“Lenses on Her Heart” opens September 15, 2018 in Japan.

Yukino Kishii and Ryo Narita cast in movie “What is Love”

Yukino Kishii and Ryo Narita are cast in movie “What is Love” (literal title). The film is based on 2003 novel “Ai ga Nanda” by Mitsuyo Kakuta. Other novels by Mitsuyo Kakuta that have been adapted into films include “Hanging Garden,” “Rebirth” and “Pale Moon.”Rikiya Imaizumi will direct the film. Story for “What is Love” follows a woman who has fallen completely in love with a man who does not feel the same way about her.

“What is Love” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for omnibus film “Ten Years Japan”

Teaser trailer and poster added for upcoming omnibus film “Ten Years Japan.” The film is produced by Hirokazu Koreeda who just won the top prize at this year;s Cannes Film Festival for his film “Shoplifters.” The film features 5 short stories dealing with issues like A.I., nuclear power, digital society, aging society and military draft. Cast members include Satoru Kawaguchi, Jun Kunimura, Hana Sugisaki, Chizuru Ikewaki and Taiga.

“Ten Years Japan” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.
