Teaser trailer and poster for Amazon drama series “Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu”

Teaser trailer and poster added for Amazon Prime Video drama series “Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu” starring  Shuhei Nomura,  Yuki Morinaga, Kai Inowaki and  Atsushi Ogata. The drama series is based on nonfiction novel “Kuatoru Ragasshi: Tensho Shonen Shisetsu to Sekai Teikoku ” by Midori Wakakuwa. Story for the drama series is based on the true story of four boys who were selected to travel from Japan to meet the Pope at the Vatican during the Sengoku period.

“Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu” will be available to stream from January 17, 2019.

Visual for Fuji TV live-action drama series “Trace: Kasouken no Otoko”

Here’s a visual for Fuji TV live-action drama series “Trace: Kasouken no Otoko.” The visual features Ryo Nishikido as Reiji Mano, Yuko Araki as Nonna Sawaguchi and Eiichiro Funakoshi as Ryohei Toramaru. Reiji Mano is a forensic science researcher, Nonna Sawaguchi is a rookie forensic science researcher and Ryohei Toramaru is a veteran detective. The drama series is based on manga “Trace: Kasouken Hoi Kenkyuin no Tsuiso ” by Kei Koga.

“Trace: Kasouken no Otoko” first airs January 7, 2019 in Japan.

Maryjun Takahashi cast in WOWOW drama series “Dying Eye”

Maryjun Takahashi is cast in WOWOW drama series “Dying Eye” co-starring Haruma Miura. The drama series is based on 2007 novel “Dying Eye” by popular mystery writer Keigo Higashino. Masahiro Kunimoto directs the drama series. For “Dying Eye,” Maryjun Takahashi will play dual characters of Minae Kishinaka and mysterious woman Ruriko. The character of Minae Kishinaka was killed in a car accident which involved bartender Shinsuke Amemura (Haruma Miura).

“Dying Eye” will first air March 16, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” starring Mei Nagano and Takumi Kitamura. The film is based on novel “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” by Tetsuya Sano and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. In the film, Mei Nagano plays high school student Mamizu Watarase. She has “luminescence disease” which causes her to faintly glow under  the moonlight. She doesn’t have much time left to live.

“Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” will be released March 15, 2019.

Shota Matsuda cast in NTV drama series “Your Home is My Business! Counterattack”

Shota Matsuda is cast in NTV drama series “Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” (literal title) starring Keiko Kitagawa. “Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” follows 2016 NTV drama series “Your Home is My Business!” and 2017 NTV drama special “Your Home is My Business! Returns.” For the drama series, Shota Matsuda will play new character Kenji Rusudo. He works as a real estate agent and is a rival of Machi Sangenya. Screenplay for the drama series is set after last year’s drama special which ended with Machi Sangenya (Keiko Kitagawa) proposing to Dai Yashiro (Toru Nakamura).

“Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” first airs January 9, 2019 in Japan.

Reina Triendl & Dori Sakurada are cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Perfect Crime.” The drama series is based on manga series “Perfect Crime” by Ririo and illustrated by Aya Tsukisima. Characters played by Reina Triendl & Dori Sakurada are interior designers and they being to work together. Reina Triendl’s character is having an affair with her boss (Hidekazu Mashima), but her fate changes after meeting Dori Sakurada’s character.

“Perfect Crime” first airs January 19, 2019 in Japan.

Ikki Sawamura cast in TV Asahi drama series “Detective Zero”

Ikki Sawamura is cast in TV Asahi drama series “Detective Zero” (literal title of “Keiji Zero”). The drama series features an original screenplay by Masashi Todayama (“Aibou: The Movie“). Story for “Detective Zero” will have Ikki Sawamura playing 51-year-old detective Rekihiko Tokiya. An accident causes him to lose the last 20 years of his memory. He then returns to work as a detective, but his methodology differs.

“Detective Zero” first airs January, 2019 in Japan.

Kou Shibasaki cast in WOWOW drama series “The House on the Slope”

Kou Shibasaki is cast in WOWOW drama series “The House on the Slope” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2016 novel “Saka no Tochu no Ie” by Mitsuyo Kakuta (“The Eighth Day“/”Paper Moon“). For the drama series, Kou Shibasaki will play housewife and mother Risako Yamazaki. She is selected to take part in a murder trial involving a mother who killed her own infant daughter. In addition, a teaser trailer for the drama series has been added on AsianWiki.

“The House on the Slope” first airs sometime spring, 2019.

Hana Sugisaki cast in TV Asahi drama series “Haken Uranaishi Ataru”

Hana Sugisaki is cast for the main character role in new TV Asahi drama series “Haken Uranaishi Ataru.” The drama series is scripted by Kazuhiko Yukawa and directed by Kazuhiko Yukawa and Ken Higurashi. Also cast in supporting roles are Yukiyoshi Ozawa, Mirai Shida, Shotaro Mamiya, Jun Shison, Maho Nonami, Yuka Itaya, Mayumi Wakamura and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. For the drama series, Hana Sugisaki will play 21-year-old Ataru Matoba. She begins her first job and she also has a secret ability: when she makes eye contact with people she can see their troubles or permanent memories.
