Yosuke Eguchi & Moka Kamishiraishi cast in NHK drama series “Request to the Angel”

Yosuke Eguchi & Moka Kamishiraishi are cast in NHK drama series “Request to the Angel” (literal title of “ Tenshi ni Request wo”). Also cast in the drama series are Jun Shison, Yuka Itaya, Mitsuko Baisho, and Meiko Kaji. The drama series features an original screenplay by Sumio Omori and directed by Keiji Kataoka. Screenwriter Sumio Omori and director Keiji Kataoka previously worked together on NHK drama series “Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit.”

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Shugo Shimada (Yosuke Eguchi) was once a detective. He now runs a private detective agency. His assistant is Akari Kojima (Moka Kamishiraishi). Shugo Shimada is not thrilled with his work. One day, receives a request from an elderly woman who looks wealthy. She wants him to help achieve Mikie Omatsu’s (Meiko Kaji) last wish, which requires taking her to a place. The elderly woman met Mikie Omatsu during a hospital stay. Mikie Omatsu does not have much time to live.

“Request to the Angel” first airs June 6, 2020 and will consist of 5 episodes.

Masaki Okada & Jun Shison cast in live-action film “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window”

Masaki Okada and Jun Shison are cast in live-action film “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window.” The film is based on manga series “Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru” by Tomoko Yamashita and directed by Yukihiro Morigaki (“Goodbye, Grandpa“). Filming for the movie will begin January 15, 2020 and finish mid-February, 2020.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Since Kosuke Mikado (Jun Shison) was a child, he has seen ghosts. He has had a difficult time because of that. One day, Rihito Hiyakawa (Masaki Okada) comes to the bookstore where Kosuke Mikado works at and tells Kosuke Mikado that if he is with him, he won’t be afraid anymore.

Rihito Hiyakawa is an exorcist. Kosuke Mikado decides to take part in exorcisms conducted by Rihito Hiyakawa. They then receive a request from a detective about a serial murder case. While investigating the case, Rihito Hiyakawa and Kosuke Mikado find a cursed dead body.

The comedy film features an original screenplay by Yoshimitsu Sawamoto and directed by Shinji Hamasaki. For popular actress Suzu Hirose, “Not Quite Dead Yet” marks her first time starring in a comedy film.

Satomi Ishihara & Sota Fukushi are cast in TBS live-action drama series “Heaven?: Gokuraku Restaurant.” Also cast in supporting roles are Jun Shison, Masanobu Katsumura, Yasunori Danta and Ittoku Kishibe. The drama series is based on manga series “Heaven?: Gokuraku Restaurant” by Noriko Sasaki. The drama series is set at a French restaurant that will soon open, but its staff is highly unusual and the restaurant is located at a cemetery.

“Heaven?: Gokuraku Restaurant” will first airs= July, 2019 in ?Japan.

Hana Sugisaki cast in TV Asahi drama series “Haken Uranaishi Ataru”

Hana Sugisaki is cast for the main character role in new TV Asahi drama series “Haken Uranaishi Ataru.” The drama series is scripted by Kazuhiko Yukawa and directed by Kazuhiko Yukawa and Ken Higurashi. Also cast in supporting roles are Yukiyoshi Ozawa, Mirai Shida, Shotaro Mamiya, Jun Shison, Maho Nonami, Yuka Itaya, Mayumi Wakamura and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. For the drama series, Hana Sugisaki will play 21-year-old Ataru Matoba. She begins her first job and she also has a secret ability: when she makes eye contact with people she can see their troubles or permanent memories.
