Meisa Kuroki cast in TV Asahi drama series “Otona Koukou”

Meisa Kuroki is cast in upcoming TV Asahi drama series “Otona Koukou” starring Haruma Miura. In the drama series, Meisa Kuroki will play 32-year-old Maki Sonoda. She is single and works at a trading company. She is enrolled at Otona Koukou (Adult High School). Premise for the drama series has the Japanese government attempting to increase the country’s birthrate by enacting an “Otona Koukou” program for single adults.

“Otona Koukou” first airs October 14, 2017 in Japan.

Tsurugi Watanabe cast in live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka”

Tsurugi Watanabe is cast in new live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka.” The live-action film is based on manga “Hana wa Saku ka” by Shoko Hidaka.  Story for the film follows the romance between a 37-year-old male advertising exec and and a 19-year-old male art student.

Appropriately enough, with the literal title of film “Does the Flower Bloom?,” movie “Hana wa Saku ka” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.

Jung Jae-Young, Kim Nam-Gil, Uhm Ji-Won cast in movie “Strange Family”

Jung Jae-Young, Kim Nam-Gil, Uhm Ji-Won are cast in movie “Strange Family.” Also cast in the film are Lee Soo-Kyung, Jung Ga-Ram and Park In-Hwan. The movie will be the first film directed by Lee Min-Jae. In the film Jung Jae-Young, Kim Nam-Gil and Lee Soo-Kyung will play three siblings. Their father played by Park In-Hwan runs a gas station in a country village. Uhm Ji-Won is married to the oldest sibling played by Jung Jae-Young. A strange man played by Jung Ga-Ram comes to the village disturbing the peace there.

“Strange Family” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Trailer for movie “Demekin”

Trailer added for upcoming movie “Demekin” starring Kentaro and Yuki Yamada. Movie is based on an autobiographical novel “Demekin” by Masaki Sata. Story follows two young men who fight their way through high school and eventually starts a motorcycle gang.

“Demekin” opens December 2, 2017 in Japan.

Rie Kitahara cast in movie “Sani / 32” (from staff of “The Devil’s Path”)

Rie Kitahara (‘NGT48’), Pierre Taki, Mugi Kadowaki and Lily Franky are cast in movie “Sani / 32.” The movie reunites director Kazuya Shiraishi, screenwriter Izumi Takahashi and actor Pierre Taki who all worked together in 2013 film “The Devil’s Path.” Also cast in the film are Taro Suruga, Takuma Otoo, Ginnojo Yamazaki, Shinsuke Kato, Kae Okumura, Amon Kabe, Honami Kurashita and Jun Aonami. Story for the film revolves around 24-year-old middle school teacher Akari Fujii (Rie Kitahara). She is kidnapped by two men (played by Pierre Taki and Lily Franky) who admire an internet girl and call themselves “The Most Lovely Murderers in Criminal History.”

Filming for the movie took place February, 2017 in Niigata Prefecture, Japan and the movie will be released February, 2018 in Japan.
