Yu Aoi, Yuko Takeuchi, Chieko Matsubara and Tsutomu Yamazaki cast in movie “A Long Goodbye”

Yu Aoi, Yuko Takeuchi, Chieko Matsubara and Tsutomu Yamazaki are cast in movie “A Long Goodbye” (literal title). The movie revolves around an elderly father (Tsutomu Yamazaki) who has Alzheimer and his wife (Chieko Matsubara) and daughters (Yu Aoi and Yuko Takeuchi). The film is based on 2015 novel “Nagai Owakare” by Kyoko Nakajima (“The Little House“) and directed by Ryota Nakano (“Her Love Boils Bathwater“). In addition, a teaser trailer for the upcoming is added on AsianWiki.

“A Long Goodbye” will be released sometime this May in Japan.

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Seiyo Uchino cast in live-action TV Tokyo drama series “What Did You Eat Yesterday?”

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Seiyo Uchino are cast in live-action TV Tokyo drama series “What Did You Eat Yesterday?” The drama series is based on manga series “Kinou Nani Tabeta?” by Fumi Yoshinaga (“Antique“/”Ooku: The Inner Chamber“). In the drama series Hidetoshi Nishijima will play attorney Shiro Kakei and Seiyo Uchino will play hairdresser Kenji Yabuki. The two men are a gay couple, but only Kenji Yabuki has come out about his sexuality.

“What Did You Eat Yesterday?” first airs April, 2019 in Japan.

Yuriko Yoshitaka cast in TBS drama series “No Working After Hours”

Yuriko Yoshitaka is cast for the lead role new TBS drama series “No Working After Hours.” The drama series is based on novel “Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu” by Kaeruko Akeno. Also cast in supporting roles are Osamu Mukai, Tokio Emoto, Yuki Izumisawa, Kavka Shishido, Yuki Uchida and Yusuke Santamaria. For drama series “No Working After Hours,” Yuriko Yoshitaka will play Yui Higashiyama. Her character absolutely hates working overtime and workaholics in general. Trouble brews for her when a new department head works at her company.

“No Working After Hours” will first air April, 2019 in Japan.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong”

First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong” took place early January, 2019 in South Korea. At the first script reading, main cast members including Kim Dong-Wook, Park Se-Young, Kim Kyung-Nam, Seol In-A, Oh Dae-Hwan, Song Ok-Suk, Lee Won-Jong and Kim Hong-Fa attended. The drama series has Kim Dong-Wook playing Jo Jin-Gab. He works as a labor inspector for the government. Park Se-Young plays Joo Mi-Ran. She is a detective and ex-wife of Jo Jin-Gab. Kim Kyung-Nam will play Cheon Deok-Koo. He is an assistant to Jo Jin-Gab and his former student.

“Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-Poong” first airs April, 2019 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday 10 PM time slot after “Item.”).
