Teaser trailer for JTBC drama series “Mystic Pop-up Bar”

First teaser trailer added for JTBC drama series “Mystic Pop-up Bar” (English title) starring Hwang Jung-Eum & Yook Sung-Jae. The literal title of the drama series is “Ssanggab Cart Bar.” Around the 2 second mark, Hwang Jung-Eum’s voice appears and she says “Bloodshot eyes, shallow face, look at that dark circle.” Around the 12 second mark, Hwang Jung-Eum states “Today it’s you.”

Takeru Satoh & Hiroshi Abe are cast in movie “To Those Who Were Not Protected” (literal title). The movie is based on 2018 novel “Mamorarenakatta Monotachi e” by Shichiri Nakayama (“Goodbye Debussy“) and directed by Takahisa Zeze. Also cast in the film for supporting roles are Kaya Kiyohara, Mitsuko Baisho, Hidetaka Yoshioka, & Kento Hayashi.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: 9 years after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, two murder cases take place in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The two victims are assumed to have been murdered by the same person. Both of the victims were tied all over their body and starved to death. Yasuhisa Tone (Takeru Satoh) emerges as a suspect in the murders. Yasuhisa Tone was just recently released from prison. In his past, he committed arson and injured someone to protect his acquaintance. Detective Seiichiro Tomashino (Hiroshi Abe) discovers a common link between the two victims and chases after Yasuhisa Tone.

Filming for the movie will take place from April to May, 2020. “To Those Who Were Not Protected” will be released sometime later this year in Japan.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Ssanggab Cart Bar”

Here’s photos from the first script reading for JTBC drama series “Ssanggab Cart Bar” (literal title) starring Hwang Jung-Eum & Yook Sung-Jae. The first script reading took place August, 2019 at JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. First script reading included main cast members Hwang Jung-Eum, Yook Sung-Jae, Choi Won-Young, Lee Joon-Hyuk, and Jung Da-Eun.

Filming for the drama series finished late February, 2020 and currently post production work is going on. Story for the drama series revolves around mysterious “Ssanggab Cart Bar,” where Wol-Joo (Hwang Jung-Eum) talks to her customers, while providing food, and heals their internal wounds. Yook Sung-Jae plays Han Kang-Bae. He is a part-time worker at Ssanggab Cart Bar.

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Seiyo Uchino cast in live-action film “What Did You Eat Yesterday?”

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Seiyo Uchino are cast in live-action film “What Did You Eat Yesterday?” (literal title). The film is based on manga series “Kinou Nani Tabeta?” by Fumi Yoshinaga (“The Lady Shogun and Her Men“) and follows 2019 TV Tokyo drama series “What Did You Eat Yesterday?” Hidetoshi Nishijima & Seiyo Uchino will reprise their characters of Shiro Kakei and Kenji Yabuki from the drama series. Also set to appear in the live-film version and reprise their roles from the drama series are Koji Yamamoto, Hayato Isomura, Makita Sports, Misako Tanaka, and Meiko Kaji.

“What Did You Eat Yesterday?” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Park Eun-Bin cast in SBS drama series “Do You Like Brahms?”

Park Eun-Bin is cast in SBS drama series “Do You Like Brahms?” (literal title). For the drama series, Park Eun-Bin will play lead female character Chae Song-A. Her character majored in business administration at a prestigious university, but her passion is playing the violin. After 4 years of preparation, she enrolls in the college of music at the same university where she graduated from. 4 years later, she begins to work as an intern and meets world famous pianist Park Joon-Young. Actor Kim Min-Jae is currently still considering an offer to play the lead male character.

After, Park Eun-Bin agreed to perform in the drama series, she began practicing playing the violin. Filming for “Do You Like Brahms?” is scheduled to begin filming April, 2020 and the drama series will air sometime in the second half of this year.

Im Si-Wan has been offered the lead male role in JTBC drama series “Run On.” Currently, Im So-Wan is positively considering the offer. If Im Si-Wan accepts, he will play main character Yoon Jong-Woo.
