South Korean film “Parasite” has won the Palme d’Or award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film written and directed by Bong Joon-Ho becomes the first ever South Korean film to win the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year’s winner of the Palme d’Or was Hirokazu Koreeda‘s “Shoplifters.” “Parasite” is a dark comedy about an unemployed family who takes a keen interest in a wealthy family.
“Parasite” will be released May 30, 2019 in South Korea.
