Caption on the main poster states in Korean “Don’t worry, just enjoy.” The film is about the first male gisaeng (Lee Joon-Ho) in Joseon who tries to save the gibang (where he works) from bankruptcy. Movie is written and directed by Nam Dae-Joong (“The Last Ride“).

Song Joong-Ki & Kim Tae-Ri are cast in sci-fi film “Spaceship Victory” (working & literal title). The film reunites movie director Jo Sung-Hee and Song Joong-Ki who previously collaborated in hit 2012 genre film “A Werewolf Boy.” Also cast in supporting roles are Jin Seon-Kyu and Yu Hae-Jin. Kim Tae-Ri will play the captain of a spaceship and Song Joong-Ki will play a pilot of the spaceship.
“Spaceship Victory” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.
Here’s the first set of teaser posters for upcoming movie “The King’s Letters” starring Song Kang-Ho and Park Hae-Il. The release date for the film is also set for July 24, 2019 in South Korea. The film features Song Kang-Ho playing historical figure King Sejong. He sets out to create the original Korean alphabet Hangul.

Actors Yoo Ah-In and Yoo Jae-Myung are cast in new movie “Without a Sound” (literal title). The film is written and directed by first time feature film director Hong Ui-Jung. In the film, Yoo Ah-In and Yoo Jae-Myung play men who work for a crime organization. Their job is to fix messes created by their group.
Filming for “Without a Sound” will begin July, 2019 and the movie is expected to be released sometime next year in South Korea.
First trailer added for movie “The Beast” starring Lee Sung-Min, Yoo Jae-Myung, Jeon Hye-Jin and Daniel Choi. Movie is directed by Lee Jung-Ho, who previously worked with Lee Sung-Min in 2014 film “Broken.” “The Beast” is a crime-action film with the script following two rival detectives who try to track down a killer and a coverup by one of the detectives.
“The Beast” will be released June, 2019 in South Korea.
South Korean film “Parasite” has won the Palme d’Or award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film written and directed by Bong Joon-Ho becomes the first ever South Korean film to win the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year’s winner of the Palme d’Or was Hirokazu Koreeda‘s “Shoplifters.” “Parasite” is a dark comedy about an unemployed family who takes a keen interest in a wealthy family.
“Parasite” will be released May 30, 2019 in South Korea.

See list of winners and nominees at the just concluded 2019 BaekSang Arts Awards. The Korean award show hands out awards for both movies and TV drama series. Big winners at this year’s show includes the Daesang (Grand Prize) in movies to Jung Woo-Sung for “Innocent Witness” and in drama series to Kim Hye-Ja for “The Light in Your Eyes.” “The Spy Gone North” won the award for best film and “My Mister” won the award for best drama series. JTBC drama series “SKY Castle” also received 4 total awards.
