South Korean film “Parasite” has won the Palme d’Or award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film written and directed by Bong Joon-Ho becomes the first ever South Korean film to win the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year’s winner of the Palme d’Or was Hirokazu Koreeda‘s “Shoplifters.” “Parasite” is a dark comedy about an unemployed family who takes a keen interest in a wealthy family.

See list of winners and nominees at the just concluded 2019 BaekSang Arts Awards. The Korean award show hands out awards for both movies and TV drama series. Big winners at this year’s show includes the Daesang (Grand Prize) in movies to Jung Woo-Sung for “Innocent Witness” and in drama series to Kim Hye-Ja for “The Light in Your Eyes.” “The Spy Gone North” won the award for best film and “My Mister” won the award for best drama series. JTBC drama series “SKY Castle” also received 4 total awards.

Around the 14 second mark in the teaser trailer, caption states in Korean “God’s messenger who confronts evil is coming.” Meanwhile, above and below are three teaser posters for the film. The film has Park Seo-Joon playing MMA fighter Yong-Hoo. After a mysterious stigmata appears on his palms he soon becomes involved in saving people possessed by the devil. Main trailer added for movie “Jurors” (literal title) starring Moon So-Ri and Park Hyung-Sik. The film covers the first civil jury trial in South Korea as the country first began testing jury trials in 2008. The trailer begins with captions that states “Any Korean citizens over the age of 20 except workers in the legal profession or ex-convicts are chosen for the jury.” At the 15 second mark, caption states “Year 2008, the first South Korean civil participation of a criminal trial” Later, “That day was the first for all of them,” “Ordinary people who wanted do well, because it was the first time” and then “Their most special trial begins.
