Ji Sung, Hwang Jung-Eum & “Kill Me, Heal Me” win big at 2015 MBC Drama Awards

The 2015 MBC Drama Awards just concluded in Seoul, South Korea and big winners include actor Ji Sung, actress Hwang Jung-Eum and drama series “Kill Me, Heal Me.”  For this year, Ji Sung was awarded the “Grand Prize” (selected by netizens) and the “Best Actor in a Mini Series” awards. Meanwhile, his counterpart in the drama series, Hwang Jung-Eum won “Best Actress in a Mini Series” for “Kill Me, Heal Me” and “She Was Pretty.” Lastly, “Kill Me, Heal Me” won the “Best Drama Award” which was also selected by netizens. First still images from MBC drama series “One More Happy Ending”

Here’s the first still images of the leading ladies in upcoming MBC drama series “One More Happy Ending” (literal title) starring Jang Na-Ra and Jung Kyoung-Ho. The still images are of Jang Na-Ra, Seo In-Young, Yoo In-Na and You Da-In.  The still images were taken on the first day of filming which took place December 18, 2015 at a restaurant in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea. The first scene filmed has Han Mi-Mo (Jang Na-Ra), Baek Da-Jung (You Da-In), Go Dong-Mi (Yoo In-Na) and Hong Ae-Ran (Seo In-Young) having brunch together at the restuarant. The four ladies are all ex-members of idol group “Angels.”

“One More Happy Ending” first airs January 20, 2016 in South Korea.

IU offered lead female role in SBS drama series “Moon Lovers”

Singer/actress IU has been offered the lead female role in upcoming SBS drama series “Moon Lovers.” Actor Lee Joon-Gi is still considering an offer to play the lead male role, while Kang Ha-Neul, Nam Joo-Hyuk and Baekhyun (‘EXO-K’) are all considering offers to play major supporting characters. So far, actors Ji Soo & Kim Sung-Kyun are cast for the drama series. “Moon Lovers” is based on Chinese novel “Bu Bu Jing Xin” by Tong Hua.

Actor Ji Soo will play Prince Wang Jung. His character is the 14th Prince of Goryeo and has a bright personality. He is loved by the people.

“Moon Lovers” will air sometime during the first half of 2016 in South Korea.

First script reading for SBS drama special “Puck!”

First script reading for upcoming SBS drama special “Puck!” took place October 16, 2015 at SBS Production Center in Ilsan, South Korea. The 1 episode drama series stars Lee Kwang-Soo and Son Soo-Hyun. The first script reading featured Lee Kwang-Soo and over 20 other cast members. Story for “Puck!” has Lee Kwang-Soo playing a nice loan shark who joins the university ice hockey team to collect a debt.

In addition, air date for “Puck!” is now set for January 1, 2016 in South Korea.

First teaser trailer for KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun”

First teaser trailer added for upcoming KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun” starring Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Ko. The drama series features the return of Song Joong-Ki after a two year hiatus due to serving his compulsory military service. The first teaser trailer features a scene from the drama series with Song Joong-Ki’s character saying “… about the kiss I gave you without permission.” Song Hye-Ko’s character replies “That kiss. Until I bring it up …” and Song Joong-Ki says “What should I do? Should I apologize or confess?”

“Descendants of the Sun” first airs sometime this February in South Korea.

Park Shin-Hye offered lead role in SBS drama series “Female Gangster Hye-Jung”

Popular actress Park Shin-Hye has been offered the lead role in upcoming SBS drama series “Female Gangster Hye-Jung” (literal and working title). The drama series will be scripted by Ha Myung-Hee (“High Society“). If Park Shin-Hye accepts the role she will play title character Hye-Jung. The character of Hye-Jung grew up in a difficult background. She fought all the time and was very good at fighting, but she also did well with her studies. Even though she grew up like a thug, Hye-Jung has now become a doctor.

“Female Gangster Hye-Jung” is tentatively scheduled to air sometime during summer, 2016 in South Korea.

first script reading for SBS drama series “Hello My Precious Person”

First script reading for upcoming SBS drama series “Hello My Precious Person” (literal title) took place December 22, 2015 in South Korea. The drama series stars Rain, Oh Yeon-Seo and Lee Min-Jung and is based on 2001 Japanese novel “Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan” by Jiro Asada. The novel was previously adapted into 2006 film “Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan” and 2009 TV Asahi drama special “Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan.”

In drama series “Hello My Precious Person,” Rain plays department store manager Lee Hae-Joon. His body is possessed by a man who was previously worked to death. Oh Yeon-Seo plays a beautiful woman who is possessed by the spirit of a tough guy played by Kim Su-Ro. Lee Min-Jung plays a widow who falls into a love triangle with Lee Hae-Joon and another employee at the department store.

“Hello My Precious Person” first airs March, 2016 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 9:55 PM time slot after “Remember“).
