Riisa Naka cast in Fuji TV drama “Tokyo Middle 30”

Riisa Naka is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Tokyo Middle 30.” Drama series is a remake of 2020 Chinese drama series “Nothing But Thirty.” The screenplay adaptation, written by Ayako Kitagawa (“My Second Aoharu,” will shift the ages of the three lead female characters from 30 to 35, the so called mid-30’s generation. For “Tokyo Middle 30,” Riisa Naka will play Maki Sukura. She hoped to become a successful businesswoman as a high school student, but she became a housewife. She then meets her two best friends from her high school days.

“Tokyo Middle 30” will first air July 22, 2026 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Maki Kurusu (Riisa Naka), Haruka Yamaji and Kaoruko Nagano were high school classmates in a small regional city. Even though they had different personalities from each other, an incident brought them together and they became best friends. They all moved from small regional city to Tokyo.

Now, 20 years later, the three women are 35 years old and still live in Tokyo, but their realities are different from what they envisioned. Maki Sakura wanted to become a successful career woman, but she is now a housewife. Haruka Yamaji dreamed of becoming a musician, but she is busy with her work in the apparel industry. Kaoruko Nagano works as an elementary school teacher and she is unsure if she wants to marry her live-in boyfriend. The three women have grown distant while pursuing their separate lives, but they reunite after five years. They learn about each other’s lives and begin to confront their own lives once again.
