First teaser trailer added for movie “I Don’t Know You” (literal title) starring Kentaro Sakaguchi and Ikoi Hayase. In addition, first group of supporting actors have been announced for the film and they Mayu Hotta, Ema Kurata, Kenichi Takito, and Mieko Harada. The teaser at the 6 second mark has Mieko Harada asking “Do you remember? For 6 months before your mother passed away, you had someone like a father.” Around the 15 second mark, Ikoi Hayase states “13 years ago, the person who loved me like his daughter was the man who killed my mom.”
“I Don’t Know You” will be released August 28, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yuhei (Kentaro Sakaguchi) is all alone in his life, with nobody around him including any family. He works quietly, but diligently and lives according to his own routine. He has lived without ever feeling lonely.
However, his life changes after meeting Satsuki (Mayu Hotta) at work, who is a new employee. Through her, he finds joy in living and his everyday shines. One day, she introduces her 5 year daughter Asako (Ema Kurata) to him. Due to Satsuki and her daughter Asako, he gradually realizes the true nature of happiness through family… but…
