First still images of Onew in KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun”

Here’s the first still images of Onew from idol group ‘SHINee’ in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun” starring Song Joong-Ki & Song Hye-Kyo. In “Descendants of the Sun,” Onew plays Lee Chi-Hoon. His character is a first year resident in thoracic surgery. His character comes from a wealth family. Since he was in medical school, he hopes to follow in the path of medical-missionary Albert Schweitzer. He is happy to be sent to disaster areas as a member of the volunteer medical service team at Haesung Hospital.

“Descendants of the Sun” will first air February 24, 2016 in South Korea.

4 character posters for movie “One Way Trip”

Here’s 4 character posters for upcoming movie “One Way Trip.” The character posters are of the four lead actors Ji Soo, Suho, Ryoo Joon-Yeol, Kim Hee-Chan. Movie had its world premiere at last year’s Busan International Film Festival. Story for the film revolves around 4 friends who take a trip to the beach for 1 night. One of the 4 friends is about to join the navy. At the beach, they see a woman being beaten by a man and they run to help her. Their lives are about to change forever.

“One Way Trip” opens sometime March, 2016 in South Korea.

Poster and main trailer for thriller film “Missing You”

Poster and main trailer added for upcoming revenge-thriller film “Missing You” starring Shim Eun-Kyung, Yoon Je-Moon & Kim Sung-Oh. The film features Shim Eun-Kyung playing a far different character than her past sweet/funny roles. Story for the film involves a daughter played by Shim Eun-Kyung who has waited 15 years for the release of the man that killed her father.

“Missing You” will be released sometime this March in South Korea.

Sung Yu-Ri cast in MBC drama series “Monster”

Actress Sung Yu-Ri is cast in upcoming MBC drama series “Monster” which has already cast Kang Ji-Hwan and Park Ki-Woong. In drama series “Monster,” Sung Yu-Ri will play lead female character Cha Soo-Yeon.  After her father’s death, she takes care of her younger brother who has autism. She tries to disclose the truth behind her father’s death with Kang Ki-Tan (Kang Ji-Hwan).

“Monster” first airs April 4, 2016 (takes over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Glamorous Temptation“).

Kenichi Matsuyama cast in movie “Satoshi no Seishun”

Kenichi Matsuyama is cast in based-on-a-true-story film “Satoshi no Seishun.” The film is based on nonfiction novel “Satoshi no Seishun” by Yoshio Osaki. Movie will be directed by Yoshitaka Mori (“Space Brothers“) and screenplay adaptation by Kosuke Mukai (“Linda Linda Linda“/”My Back Page“). In the film “Satoshi no Seishun,” Kenichi Matsuyama will play shogi (Japanese chess) player Satoshi Murayama. Satoshi Murayama is eventually diagnosed with cancer and is advised to stop playing shogi, but he goes against his doctor’s wishes and continues to play.

“Satoshi no Seishun” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Haru Kuroki, Joe Odagiri, Kentaro Sakaguchi cast in TBS drama series “Juhan Shuttai!”

Haru Kuroki, Joe Odagiri and Kentaro Sakaguchi are cast in upcoming TBS live-action drama series “Juhan Shuttai!” The drama series about working in the manga publishing industry is based on manga “Juhan Shuttai!” by Yana Toboso and directed by Nobuhiro Doi (“Tears for You“). In the drama series, Haru Kuroki plays main character Kokoro Kurosawa. Her character was a judo athlete, but begin a new career in the manga publishing industry. The company experiences turbulent times as they must deal with new technologies like ebooks. Also cast in supporting roles are YosiYosi Arakawa, Yutaka Matsushige & Ken Yasuda.

“Juhan Shuttai!” first airs sometime this April in Japan.
