Nana Eikura and Kento Kaku now married

Actress Nana Eikura and actor Kento Kaku have announced that they have registered their marriage on August 7, 2016. A wedding ceremony and reception details have not yet been decided. Kento Kaku and Nana Eikura first met while working together in 2014 TBS drama series “Testimony of N” and began dating during summer, 2015.

Lee Sung-Kyung and Nam Joo-Hyuk cast in MBC drama series “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo”

Lee Sung-Kyung and Nam Joo-Hyuk are now cast for lead roles in upcoming MBC drama series “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo.”

In the drama series, Lee Sung-Kyung will play title character Kim Bok-Joo. Kim Bok-Joo is in the 2nd year of college, majoring in physical education, and belongs to the school’s weightlifting team. She is friendly. Meanwhile, Nam Joo-Hyuk will play Jung Joon-Hyung. His character is also a 2nd year student at the same school attended by Kim Bok-Joo. Jung Joon-Hyung belongs to the swimming team. He suffers from a trauma after being disqualified for an illegal start.

In addition, Kim Jae-Hyun (’N.Flying’) is cast in a supporting role. Kim Jae-Hyun will play Joon-Hyung’s junior on the swimming team. “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” first airs this November in South Korea.

Still images of Nanao in WOWOW drama series “Futagashira 2”

Here’s still images of actress Nanao in upcoming live-action WOWOW drama series “Futagashira 2” starring Kenichi Matsuyama & Taichi Saotome.

In the drama series, Nanao plays Okon. Setup for the scene has Benzo (Kenichi Matsuyama), Soji (Taichi Saotome) and Kurazo (Nao Omori) crossing paths at a red light district. There, Benzo and Soji are surprised to see Okon walking among oiran (a type of courtesan/prostitue).

“Futagashira 2” first airs September 17, 2016 in Japan.

First still images of Kim Hyun-Joo in JTBC drama series “Fantastic”

Here’s the first still images of actress Kim Hyun-Joo in upcoming JTBC drama series “Fantastic” co-starring Joo Sang-Wook.

The still images are from Kim Hyun-Joo’s first day of filming for the drama series. Setup for the scene has Kim Hyun-Joo as popular TV drama series writer So-Hye arguing with the director over the casting of actor Ryoo Hae-Sung (Joo Sang-Wook). So-Hye does not want Ryoo Hae-Sung in the drama series, because she thinks his acting is poor. The director though insists on Ryoo Hae-Sung because of his popularity in South Korea and abroad.

“Fantastic” first airs September 2, 2016 in South Korea.

Yo Yoshida cast in Fuji TV drama series “Medical Team: Lady Davinci no Shindan”

Yo Yoshida is cast in upcoming Fuji TV drama series “Medical Team: Lady Davinci no Shindan.” In the drama series, Yo Yoshida will play main character Shiho Tachibana. Also cast in supporting roles are: Saki Aibu, Riho Yoshioka, Kumiko Shiratori, Saori Takizawa, Yuko Fueki, Ran Ito, Shigeyuki Totsugi, Ken Shounozaki, Katsuya Kobayashi, Ryousuke Ikeoka, Kento Igarashi and Katsunori Takahashi. Drama series is scripted by Shinichi Tanaka and directed by Kazunari Hoshino, both of whom worked together in Fuji TV drama series “Team Batista 2: General Rouge no Gaisen” and “Team Batista 3: Ariadne no Dangan.”

“Medical Team: Lady Davinci no Shindan” first airs this October in Japan.

Yuma Nakayama and Kirato Wakayama cast in live-action film “Laughing Under the Clouds”

Yuma Nakayama (‘NYC’) and Kirato Wakayama are cast in upcoming live-action film “Laughing Under the Clouds” starring Sota Fukushi. Movie is based on manga series “Donten ni Warau” by Karakara-Kemuri.

In the upcoming film, Yuma Nakayama will play second oldest brother Soramaru Kumo and Kirato Wakayama will play youngest brother Chutaro Kumo. Their older brother is Tenka Kumo played by Sota Fukushi. The three brothers go up against a giant snake known as Orochi. The snake revives every 300 years and yields incredible destruction.

“Laughing Under the Clouds” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Supporting cast for live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul”

Yu Aoi, Nobuyuki Suzuki and Yo Oizumi are cast in supporting roles for upcoming live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul” starring Masataka KubotaFumika Shimizu.

In the upcoming live-action film, Yu Aoi will play Rize Kamishiro. Her character changes the fate of Ken (Masataka Kubota). Although her looks say she is smart and naive, she is actually a greedy ghoul.

Nobuyuki Suzuki will play investigator Kotaro Amon. He belongs to the CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul), which was created to handle ghouls.

Yo Oizumi will play Kureo Mado. He is an investigator and partner of Kotaro Amon. In the past, he lost his family to a ghoul.

“Tokyo Ghoul” will be released sometime during summer, 2017 in Japan.

Seo Hyun-Jin offered lead female role in SBS drama series “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim”

Actress Seo Hyun-Jin has been offered the lead female role in upcoming SBS drama series “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim.” Actors Han Suk-Kyu and Yoo Yeon-Seok have previously received offers to play the leading male roles and they are still considering. If Seo Hyun-Jin accepts her offer, she will play Yoon Seo-Jung. Her character is a surgeon who has a bright and warm personality. Seo Hyun-Jin is currently “positively considering” her offer.

“Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” was initially slotted to air this November on SBS, but with the proliferation of medical themed drama series currently airing, SBS has decided to push out the premiere of “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” to sometime in 2017.
