Yuki Yamada, Shimon Okura & Nagi Nemoto cast in live-action film and drama series ” “Friends Games”

Yuki Yamada, Shimon Okura & Nagi Nemoto are cast in upcoming live-action film “Friends Games” and drama series “Friends Games.” Both titles star Ryo Yoshizawa & Rio Uchida and are based on manga series “Tomodachi Gemu” by Mikoto Yamaguchi.

For “Friends Games,” Yuki Yamada will play Tenji Mikasa. He is a top student in his class and possesses excellent communication ability.  Shimon Okura will play Makoto Shibe. He is a class president and his father is a city councilman. Nagi Nemoto will play Yutori Kokorogi. She is an otaku with a kind personality.

Movie and drama series versions of “Friends Games” will be released sometime later this year in Japan.

Lee Byung-Hun still image from movie “A Single Rider”

Here’s a launching still image of Lee Byung-Hun in upcoming movie “A Single Rider” co-starring Kong Hyo-Jin & Ahn So-Hee. In the movie, Lee Byung-Hun plays Jae-Hoon. He lives a comfortable life while working as a branch manager at a financial company. He then becomes embroiled in a bad loan case and goes to Australia where his family lives. There, he disappears and a secret is revealed.

“A Single Rider” will be released February, 2017 in South Korea.

Teaser poster for movie “Retrial”

Here’s the first teaser poster for upcoming based-on-a-true-story film “Retrial” starring Jung Woo & Kang Ha-Neul. Story for follows a young man who has spent 10 years in prison for the murder of a cab driver. A lawyer decides to take his case. Movie is directed by Kim Tae-Yoon. The teaser poster also reveals that “Retrial” is set for release sometime during February, 2017 in South Korea.

Aoi Nakamura is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Mahiru no Akuma”

Aoi Nakamura is cast in upcoming Fuji TV drama series “Mahiru no Akuma” starring Rena Tanaka. Also cast in supporting roles are Masato Ibu and Koji Ookura. In the upcoming drama series, Aoi Nakamura will portray Masato Nanba. He is an aspiring writer and develops positive feelings for Dr. Yoko Okouchi (Rena Tanaka). Nevertheless, he begins to have questions about her and researches further.

“Mahiru no Akuma” first airs February 4, 2017 in Japan.

Ryoo Joon-Yeol cast in movie “Little Forest”

Actor Ryoo Joon-Yeol is cast in upcoming movie “Little Forest” co-starring Kim Tae-Ri. The film is based on manga “Little Forest” by Daisuke Igarashi which already spawned Japanese films “Little Forest: Summer & Autumn” and “Little Forest: Winter & Spring.” Also cast today in supporting roles are Moon So-Ri & Jin Ki-Joo. Movie will be directed by Yim Soonrye.

In upcoming movie “Little Forest,” Ryoo Joon-Yeol will play Jae-Ha. His character is the hometown friend of Hye-Won (Kim Tae-Ri). Moon So-Ri will play the mother of Hye-Won. Her character disappeared suddenly. Jin Ki-Joo will play Eun-Sook. She is a friend of Hye-Won.

“Little Forest” will be released sometime during 2018 in South Korea.

Nam Joo-Hyuk offered lead male role in tvN drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017”

Nam Joo-Hyuk has been offered the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Bride of the Water God 2017” (literal and working title). Currently, Nam Joo-Hyuk is positively considering the offer. If he accepts, Nam Joo-Hyuk will play water god Ha Baek.

The drama series is loosely based on webcomic “Habaekui Shinboo” by Yoon Mi-Kyung, but the time period is changed from a historical setting to the present day. Kim Byung-Soo (“Nine: Nine Times Time Travel“) will direct the drama series and Jung Yoon-Jung (“Misaeng“) will write the screenplay adaptation.

Gaku Hamada & Alice Hirose cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Tsuribaka Nisshi Season 2”

Gaku Hamada & Alice Hirose are cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Tsuribaka Nisshi Season 2.” The drama series is based on fishing manga series “Tsuribaka Nisshi” by Juzo Yamasaki. Also returning from season 1 of TV Tokyo’s “Tsuribaka Nisshi” are Mitsuru Fukikoshi, Kitaro, Shono Hayama, Momoko Tanabe, Tatsuo Nadaka & Ryo Ono.

“Tsuribaka Nisshi Season 2” will air April, 2017 in Japan.

Lee Sung-Yeol (‘INFINITE’) and Lee Ye-Hyun cast in drama special “Cold Case Provisional Task Force”

Lee Sung-Yeol (‘INFINITE’) and Lee Ye-Hyun are cast in new drama special “Cold Case Provisional Task Force” (literal title). Lee Ye-Hyun is a rookie actress. Story for the drama special has Lee Sung-Yeol playing an aspiring detective with dyslexia. He becomes the first intern detective. Meanwhile, Lee Ye-Hyun plays a former soccer athlete turned intern reporter. She gets fired from her job though. The two characters then team up on a case.

Filming for “Cold Case Provisional Task Force” will begin this month in South Korea. Exact network or air date for the drama special has yet to be announced.
