Hiroki Suzuki & Yoshihiko Aramaki cast in movie “Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2”

Hiroki Suzuki, Yoshihiko Aramaki, Masanari Wada, & Fuma Sadamoto are cast in sequel film “Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2.” Movie is a sequel to 2019 movie “Touken Ranbu: The Movie,” which is based on collectible card video game “Touken Ranbu.” Hiroki Suzuki, Yoshihiko Aramaki, Masanari Wada, & Fuma Sadamoto will all reprise characters they played in the first film. Also cast to play new characters are Mizuki Umetsu, Takamichi Sato, Ryosuke Yamamoto, Reo Honda, Eito Konishi, & Yuki Tamaki.

“Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Teaser trailer #5 for KBS2 drama “Love All Play”

Teaser trailer #5 added for KBS2 drama series “Love All Play” starring Park Ju-Hyun & Chae Jong-Hyeop. The teaser trailer begins with an unidentified voice stating “She was once the future of Korean badminton, but she ran away at night from the athletes’ village.” Others voices come out to criticize Park Tae-Yang (Park Ju-Hyun). Around the 23 second mark, Chae Jong-Hyeop states “493km. Do you know what that is? I bet you’re curious. Welcome back.” 

“Love All Play” first airs April 20, 2022 in South Korea.

Kenichi Matsuyama & Masami Nagasawa cast in moive “Lost Care”

Kenichi Matsuyama and Masami Nagasawa are cast in suspense-mystery film “Lost Care.” The movie is based on 2013 novel “Lost Care” by Aki Hamanaka and directed by Tetsu Maeda (“A Banana? At This Time of Night?“). Kenichi Matsuyama will play home health care worker Munenori Shiba. He becomes a suspect in a murder case. Masami Nagasawa will play Prosecutor Hidemi Otomo.

“Lost Care” will be released sometime this year in Japan.

Masaki Aiba cast in movie “Sore ga Iru Mori”

Masaki Aiba is cast in horror film “Sore ga Iru Mori.” The movie is directed by Hideo Nakata (“Ring“) and scripted by Brazili Ann Yamada (“Goose Bumps The Movie“) & Tetsuya Oishi (“Stolen Identity“). The film revolves around a forest where people experience mysterious phenomena. For Masaki Aiba, this is his first starring movie acting role since 2014 film “Miracle: Devil Claus’ Love and Magic” and his first appearance in a horror film.

Filming for “Sore ga Iru Mori” is currently ongoing and the movie will be released September 30, 2022 in Japan.

First teaser poster and release date set for Netflix drama series “The Sound of Magic” starring Ji Chang-Wook, Choi Sung-Eun, & Hwang In-Yeop .The drama series is based on webcomic “Annarasumanara” by Ha Il-Kwon. Caption on the poster states “Fantasy music drama. Do you believe in magic?”

The poster also reveals that “The Sound of Magic” will stream on Netflix from May 6, 2022.

Lee Min-Ho & Kong Hyo-Jin cast in drama “Ask the Stars”

Lee Min-Ho and Kong Hyo-Jin are cast in romantic-comedy drama series “Ask the Stars” (literal title). Lee Min-Ho will play OB-GYN Doctor Gong Ryong and Kong Hyo-Jin will play Korean-American Astronaut Eve Kim. The drama series will be directed by Park Shin-Woo (“It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) and scripted by Seo Sook-Hyang (“Pasta“). Actress Kong Hyo-Jin, Director Park Shin-Woo and Screenwriter Seo Sook-Hyang all previously worked together on 2016 SBS drama series “Jealousy Incarnate.”

Filming is expected to begin Apirl, 2022 and the drama series will air sometime next year in South Korea. Exact broadcasting station has not yet been decided.

Kim Se-Jeong is cast in SBS drama “Today’s Webtoon”

Kim Se-Jeong is cast for the lead female role in SBS drama series “Today’s Webtoon” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Juhan Shuttai!” by Naoko Matsuda, which was previously adapted into 2016 TBS drama series “Sleepeeer Hit!” starring Haru Kuroki & Joe Odagiri. For “Today’s Webtoon,” Kim Se-Jeong, who is currently starring in SBS drama series “Business Proposal,” will play On Ma-Eum. An injury ended On Ma-Eum’s career as a judo athlete and she begins work as a webtoon editor.

“Today’s Webtoon” will first air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.
