Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “The Dry Spell” starring Toma Ikuta. Movie is based on 1990 novel “Kassui” by Mitsuru Kawabayashi and the screenplay adaptation is written by Shotaro Oikawa (“Chokolietta“). The movie has Toma Ikuta playing city hall water department employee Shunsaku Iwakiri. He encounters two young sisters when he visits a home for non payment on their water bill.
“The Dry Spell” is now set for release June 2, 2023 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Shunsaku Iwakiri (Toma Ikuta) works for the waterworks division at city hall. His main role is to visit homes and businesses that are behind on their bills and either collect payment or shut off their water. He is not happy with his job. In his personal life, he has separated from his wife Kazumi Iwakiri (Machiko Ono) and their child. On a summer day and while performing his job, Shunsaku Iwakiri meets young sisters Keiko Koide (Nanami Yamazaki) and Kumiko Koide (Yuzuho). They have been left neglected at their home.
