Teaser trailer and teaser poster added for movie “Sheep In The Box” starring Haruka Ayase & Daigo. Movie is written and directed by Hirokazu Koreeda (“Nobody Knows“). Meanwhile, child actor Rimu Kuwaki is cast to play a humanoid that is adopted by Otone Komoto (Haruka Ayase) and Kensuke Komoto (Daigo). He landed the role after taking part in an audition involving 200 other applicants. Caption in the teaser trailer states at the 24 second mark “A couple lost their son and adopted a humanoid robot.”
“Sheep In The Box” is now set for release May 29, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Set in the near future, Otone Komoto (Haruka Ayase) works as an architect. She is married to Kensuke Komoto (Daigo), who runs a construction company. The married couple decide to welcome a humanoid robot into their home as their son.
