Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Tokyo Taxi” starring Chieko Baisho and Takuya Kimura. The film is a remake of 2022 French-Belgian film “Driving Madeleine” (“Une Belle Course”) and directed by Yoji Yamada. Captions in the teaser trailer states (0:12) “Two people who were never meant to meet” and (0:25) “A one-day trip changes their lives.”
“Tokyo Taxi” will be released November 21, 2025 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Koji Usami (Takuya Kimura) drives a taxi to make a living. One day, he is asked to take 85 year old Sumire Takano (Chieko Baisho) from Shibamata, Tokyo to an elderly care facility in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture. On the way, Sumire Takano asks Koji Usami to make some stops and she gradually opens up to him. She starts to tell him about her past.
