Seiyo Uchino and Kana Kita are cast in movie “Shunga Sensei.” The film is written and directed by Akihiko Shiota (“Farewell Song“) and revolves around shunga (erotic art that was popular during the Edo period). Seiyo Uchino will play Ichiro Haga, who is a reclusive teacher of shunga. Kana Kita will play Yumiko Haruno. She works as a waitress and meets Ichiro Haga while working at her job.
“Shunga Sensei” will be released October 13, 2023 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yumiko Haruno (Kana Kita) works as a waitress at a cafe that has been around for a long time. She spends her days aimlessly and without a dream for her future. On an ordinary day at her job, Yumiko Haruno notices middle aged man Ichiro Haga (Seiyo Uchino) looking intently at shunga (Japanese erotic paintings that were popular during the Edo period). He suddenly talks to her and asks her what shunga is to her. Yumiko Haruno becomes interested in the eccentric shunga researcher and he invites her to visit his home to learn more. After his wife passed away, Ichiro Haga has lived a reclusive life and concentrated solely on his study of shunga. Yumiko Haruno visits his home and begins to take shunga lessons from him.
