Ryusei Yokohama cast in movie “Sen wa, Boku o Egaku”

Ryusei Yokohama is cast in movie “Sen wa, Boku o Egaku.” Movie is based on 2019 novel “Sen wa, Boku o Egaku” by Hiromasa Togami and directed by Norihiro Koizumi (“Chihayafuru“). For the movie, Ryusei Yokohama will play main character Sousuke Aoyama. He becomes fascinated with ink wash paintings and becomes a painter himself. Ryusei Yokohama actually learned ink wash painting from artist Tohun Kobayashi for a year to play his role.

“Sen wa, Boku o Egaku” will be released October 21, 2022 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Sousuke Aoyama (Ryusei Yokohama) attends a university. His parents died in an accident and he is still unable to get pass his sadness over their deaths. While working his part-time job at an exhibition gallery, he sees ink wash paintings and becomes fascinated by the works. Standing nearby, ink wash painting master Kozan Shinoda notices Sousuke Aoyama’s fascination with the works. Kozan Shinoda talks to Sousuke Aoyama and suggests that he should become his pupil to learn how to draw ink wash paintings.
