Hiroki Hasegawa & Haruka Ayase cast in movie “Yes, I Can’t Swim”

Hiroki Hasegawa & Haruka Ayase are cast in movie “Yes, I Can’t Swim” (literal title). The movie is based on novel “Hai, Oyogemasen” by Hidemine Takahashi and directed by Kensaku Watanabe (“Cheer Cheer Cheer!“). For Hiroki Hasegawa & Haruka Ayase, they previously worked together in 2013 NHK drama series “Yae no Sakura” as a married couple. The movie “Yes, I Can’t Swim” will have Hiroki Hasegawa play Yuji Takanashi. He is a professor that has a strong fear of water. He begins to take a swimming class taught by Shizuka Usuhara (Haruka Ayase).

“Yes, I Can’t Swim” will be released June, 2022 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yuji Takanashi (Hiroki Hasegawa) teaches philosophy at a university. He has a fear of water and is unable to swim. His phobia is so strong that he is afraid to even dip his face into water. One day, circumstances leads Yuji Takanashi to attend a swimming class taught by Shizuka Usuhara (Haruka Ayase). Yuji Takanashi takes lessons with energetic housewives at Shizuka Usuhara’s swimming class. Shizuka Usuhara cheers Yuji Takanashi to learn swimming, but it’s not easy for Yuji Takanashi to overcome his fear of water.
