Hana Sugisaki is cast for the lead role in movie “Meets the World.” Movie is based on 2022 novel “Meets the World” by Hitomi Kanehara and directed by Daigo Matsui (“Sweet Poolside“). The first teaser poster and teaser trailer has also been released for the upcoming movie, with the trailer being available for view at AsianWiki. In the movie, Hana Sugisaki will play otaku Yukari. Anxious about all her friends leaving her to get married, she decides to find a person to marry and goes on a blind date. Things don’t go well for her, when she meets a beautiful hostess named Rai.
“Meets the World” will be released October 24, 2025 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yukari (Hana Sugisaki) is a 27-year-old single woman. She pours all her love into manga “Meat is Mine,” but she doesn’t love herself. Her fellow otaku friends drift away one after the other due to marriage and having children. Feeling anxious about herself, she begins to look for a man to marry and decides to participate in a blind date for single men and women. The meeting doesn’t go well for her. She gets drunks in Kabukicho. There, she meets Rai, who is beautiful hostess.
