Arata Sato and Miho Watanabe are cast in movie “Seishun Gestalt Houkai.” Movie is based on 2021 novel “Seishun Gestalt Houkai” by Tomato Marui and screenplay adaptation written by Kisa Miura (“Eye Love You“). The film is set at a high school where a girl, played by Miho Watanabe. suddenly comes down with “adolescent face loss syndrome.” Only one other student, played by Arata Sato, notices something off in her. The illness depicted in the original novel and movie is a fictional disorder where a youth loses their own individuality and identity, so much so that they can’t recognize their own face.
“Seishun Gestalt Houkai” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: One day, high school student Asaha Mamiya (Miho Watanabe) suddenly develops adolescent face loss syndrome. She hasn’t been able to tell anyone about her disorder. The only person who noticed something strange about her is her classmate Hijiri Asahina (Arata Sato). Hijiri Asahina has a flashy appearance, but violent attitude. This draws the attention of the teachers at his high school. Nevertheless, he is a highly sensitive person who is more empathetic to others’ pain.
