Shota Matsuda cast in live-action TBS drama series “Dias Police” and live-action film “Dias Police”

Actor Shota Matsuda is cast in upcoming live-action TBS drama series “Dias Police: Ihou Keisatsu” and live-action film “Dias Police: Ihou Keisatsu” (working title). Both titles are based on manga series “Dias Police Ihou Keisatsu” written by Takashi Nagasaki. The TBS drama series will be directed by Masanori Tominaga (“The Pavillion Salamandre“), Tetsuya Mariko (“Distraction Babies“), Katsuhito Mogi (assistant director for “Litchi Hikari Club“) and Kazuyoshi Kumakiri (“My Man“). The live-action film will be directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri.

Premise for the drama series and film is set in Tokyo among the 150,000 illegals staying in the city. The illegals develop their own bank, hospital and 1 man police force. Shota Matsuda plays Saki Kubozuka. His character is the police officer for the illegals. He tries to take care of the weak and main public order among the illegals. His own nationality and ethnicity is unknown.

TBS drama series “Dias Police: Ihou Keisatsu” will air beginning this April and the live-action film will be released sometime this summer in Japan.

Poster and teaser trailer #1 for live-action film “Setoutsumi”

Poster and teaser trailer #1 added for upcoming live-action comedy film “Setoutsumi” starring Sosuke Ikematsu and Masaki Suda. Movie is based on manga series “Setoutsumi” by Kazuya Konomoto and directed by Tatsushi Omori (“Tada’s Do-It-All House“). Teaser #1 is titled “Kendama” (a type of traditional Japanese toy) and if you watch the teaser trailer you’ll now why. Teaser #2 with the title of “Timing” will be released some time in early March and Teaser #3 titled “Standing Ovation” will be released early April.

“Setoutsumi” will be released July 2, 2016 in Japan.

Masahiro Higashide, Sosuke Ikematsu and Masaki Suda cast in live-action film “Death Note 2016”

Masahiro Higashide, Sosuke Ikematsu and Masaki Suda are all cast in live-action film “Death Note 2016.” Movie is based on popular manga series Death Note” by Tsugumi Ohba and directed by Shinsuke Sato (“Gantz“).

In movie “Death Note 2016,” Masahiro Higashide plays Tsukuru Mishima. His character is an investigator of the Death Note Special Task Force Headquarter Team. He has made a thorough investigation into the Kira case from 10 years ago. He is a Death Note otaku.

Sosuke Ikematsu plays private investigator Ryuzaki. His character is the rightful successor of L. He was born with L’s gene which L left before he died. He chases after the Death Note with Tsukuru Mishima.

Masaki Suda plays Yuki Shion. He is a cyber terrorist. His entire family was murdered by a crazy man and Yuki is the only survivor. Kira killed the crazed man who murdered his family. Since then, Yuki worships Kira as a god. He entices Tsukuru and Ryuzaki with his excellent hacking skills.

“Death Note 2016” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Kenichi Matsuyama cast in movie “Satoshi no Seishun”

Kenichi Matsuyama is cast in based-on-a-true-story film “Satoshi no Seishun.” The film is based on nonfiction novel “Satoshi no Seishun” by Yoshio Osaki. Movie will be directed by Yoshitaka Mori (“Space Brothers“) and screenplay adaptation by Kosuke Mukai (“Linda Linda Linda“/”My Back Page“). In the film “Satoshi no Seishun,” Kenichi Matsuyama will play shogi (Japanese chess) player Satoshi Murayama. Satoshi Murayama is eventually diagnosed with cancer and is advised to stop playing shogi, but he goes against his doctor’s wishes and continues to play.

“Satoshi no Seishun” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Yuto Nakajima & Yuko Araki cast in romance film “Bokura no Gohan wa Ashita de Matteru”

Yuto Nakajima from boy band ‘Hey! Say! JUMP’ and Yuko Araki are cast for the lead roles in upcoming movie  “Bokura no Gohan wa Ashita de Matteru.” The movie is based on 2012 novel “Bokura no Gohan wa Ashita de Matteru” by Maiko Seo and directed by Masahide Ichii (“Blindly in Love“). Story for the film follows a 7 year period (from their first date to marriage) for a young couple in love. Filming for “Bokura no Gohan wa Ashita de Matteru” began at the end of January, 2016 in Thailand and is scheduled to finish by the end of February, 2016.

“Bokura no Gohan wa Ashita de Matteru” will be released sometime in spring, 2017 in Japan.
