Trailer for movie “The Lowlife”

Trailer added for movie “The Lowlife” starring Ayano Moriguchi, Kokone Sasaki and Aina Yamada. Movie is based on 2016 novel “Saitei” by AV actress Mana Sakura and directed by Takahisa Zeze. Story for the film follows three woman whose lives are affected in someway by the adult video industry. It was just announced today that the film will have its world premiere in the competition section at this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival (October 25 – November 3, 2017).

“The Lowlife” will have its general release November 25, 2017 in Japan.

Trailer #2 for live-action film “Destiny: Kamakura Monogatari”

Trailer #2 added for upcoming live-action film “Destiny: Kamakura Monogatari” starring Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata. Movie is based on manga “Kamakura Monogatari” by Ryohei Saigan and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. Takashi Yamazaki previously adapted Ryohei Saigan’s manga “San-chome no Yuhi” into box-office hits “Always: Sunset on Third Street,” “Always: Sunset on Third Street 2” and “Always: Sunset on Third Street 3.”

Additionally, the theme song for the film has been announced, which is “Anata” (literally “You’) by Hikaru Utada. The theme song is featured in trailer #2.

“Destiny: Kamakura Monogatari” will be released December 9, 2017 in Japan.

Tsurugi Watanabe cast in live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka”

Tsurugi Watanabe is cast in new live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka.” The live-action film is based on manga “Hana wa Saku ka” by Shoko Hidaka.  Story for the film follows the romance between a 37-year-old male advertising exec and and a 19-year-old male art student.

Appropriately enough, with the literal title of film “Does the Flower Bloom?,” movie “Hana wa Saku ka” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.

Trailer for movie “Demekin”

Trailer added for upcoming movie “Demekin” starring Kentaro and Yuki Yamada. Movie is based on an autobiographical novel “Demekin” by Masaki Sata. Story follows two young men who fight their way through high school and eventually starts a motorcycle gang.

“Demekin” opens December 2, 2017 in Japan.

Rie Kitahara cast in movie “Sani / 32” (from staff of “The Devil’s Path”)

Rie Kitahara (‘NGT48’), Pierre Taki, Mugi Kadowaki and Lily Franky are cast in movie “Sani / 32.” The movie reunites director Kazuya Shiraishi, screenwriter Izumi Takahashi and actor Pierre Taki who all worked together in 2013 film “The Devil’s Path.” Also cast in the film are Taro Suruga, Takuma Otoo, Ginnojo Yamazaki, Shinsuke Kato, Kae Okumura, Amon Kabe, Honami Kurashita and Jun Aonami. Story for the film revolves around 24-year-old middle school teacher Akari Fujii (Rie Kitahara). She is kidnapped by two men (played by Pierre Taki and Lily Franky) who admire an internet girl and call themselves “The Most Lovely Murderers in Criminal History.”

Filming for the movie took place February, 2017 in Niigata Prefecture, Japan and the movie will be released February, 2018 in Japan.

Movie version of “Code Blue” to be released in 2018

A movie version of “Code Blue,” based on the popular Fuji TV drama series “Code Blue,” is set for production and will be released sometime in 2018. No other information has yet been revealed about the movie adaptation. Fuji TV drama series “Code Bue” has seen three seasons so far, with “Code Blue Season 3” having aired its final episode on September 18th.  Premise for the drama series follows a medical team who take part in Japan’s “doctor helicopter” system.

Teaser trailer for live-action film “The Scythian Lamb”

Teaser trailer for upcoming live-action film “The Scythian Lamb” starring Ryo Nishikido, Fumino Kimura and Ryuhei Matsuda. Movie is based on manga “Hitsuji no Ki” by Tatsuhiko Yamagami and directed by Daihachi Yoshida (“The Kirishima Thing“).

“The Scythian Lamb” is scheduled for release February, 2018 in Japan, but the movie will make its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival (October 12-21, 2017).
