Umika Kawashima cast in Netflix drama series “Hono no Tenkosei: Reborn” + teaser trailer

Umika Kawashima is cast in upcoming Netflix live-action drama series “Hono no Tenkosei: Reborn” starring the 7 members of boyband ‘Johnny’s West.’ The seven members are Daiki Shigeoka, Akito Kiriyama, Junta Nakama, Tomohiro Kamiyama, Ryusei Fujii, Takahiro Hamada and Nozomu Kotaki. In the drama series, Umika Kawashima will play lead female character Hikari. She gives the mission to the 7 guys and infiltrates a high school with the 7 guys. The drama series is based on manga “Hono no Tenkosei” by Kazuhiko Shimamoto and directed by Toshio Lee.

In addition, a teaser trailer for “Hono no Tenkosei: Reborn” has been added on AsianWiki. The drama series will premiere on November 10, 2017.

Mone Kamishiraishi cast in TBS drama series “Rikuoh”

Mone Kamishiraishi is cast for upcoming TBS drama series “Rikuoh” starring Koji Yakusho, Kento Yamazaki and Ryoma Takeuchi. In the drama series, Mone Kamishiraishi will play Akane Miyazawa. She is the daughter of Koichi Miyazawa (Koji Yakusho) and a high school student. Her father attempts to transition his company from a traditional socks company to a sneakers company.

Also cast for supporting roles are Masato Wada and Gaku Sano. They will play Takao Hirase and Naoyuki Kezuka respectively, who are both members of the athletics club.

“Rikuoh” first airs October 15, 2017 in Japan.

Meisa Kuroki cast in TV Asahi drama series “Otona Koukou”

Meisa Kuroki is cast in upcoming TV Asahi drama series “Otona Koukou” starring Haruma Miura. In the drama series, Meisa Kuroki will play 32-year-old Maki Sonoda. She is single and works at a trading company. She is enrolled at Otona Koukou (Adult High School). Premise for the drama series has the Japanese government attempting to increase the country’s birthrate by enacting an “Otona Koukou” program for single adults.

Tori Matsuzaka cast in live-action drama series “Impossibility Defense”

Tori Matsuzaka is cast in live-action drama series “Impossibility Defense” (“Funohan”). The drama series is based on manga “Funohan” by Arata Miyatsuki and follows 2018 live-action movie “Impossibility Defense” also starring Tori Matsuzaka. Story for the drama series will be connected with the live-action film version. In the drama series and movie, Tori Matsuzaka plays Tadashi Usobuki. His character is a contract killer, but he uses a unique method to take out his targets. More cast members for the drama series will be announced at a later date, but expect to see many of the same cast members from the live-action film version. Exact air date and network will also be announced at a later date.

Teaser trailer added for upcoming TBS drama series “Prison’s Princess” (literal title) starring Kyoko Koizumi, Hikari Mitsushima, Kaho, Maki Sakai, Aiko Morishita and Miho Kanno. The drama series follows a group of women who knew each other in prison and they now scheme to get revenge for one of their former cellmates. Drama series is based on an original script by Kankuro Kudo.

Shinichi Tsutsumi and Masaki Okada cast in WOWOW drama series “Meishi Game”

Shinichi Tsutsumi and Masaki Okada are cast in new WOWOW drama series “Meishi Game.” The drama series is based on 2014 novel “Meishi Gemu” by Osamu Suzuki. Also cast in the drama series is Karen Otomo in a supporting role. Story for the drama series has quiz show producer Kanda (Shinichi Tsutsumi) and his daughter (Karen Otomo) waking up in a locked room with a mysterious necklace around their necks. A man played by Masaki Okada offers to Kanda to play the “Meisha Game” (“Business Card Game”) to save his daughter’s life.

Kento Nagayama, Takanori Jinnai and Masao Kusakari cast in TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X”

Kento Nagayama, Takanori Jinnai and Masao Kusakari are cast in the 5th season of TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X” starring Ryoko Yonekura. For the drama series, Kento Nagayama will play rookie surgeon Naoyuki Nishiyama. Takanori Jinnai will play Takashi Inomata. He is the deputy director of the surgery department. Lastly, Masao Kusakari will play Kagenobu Uchikanda. He is the chairman of the Japan doctors club.

Satomi Ishihara cast in TBS drama series “Unnatural”

Satomi Ishihara is cast in new TBS drama series “Unnatural.” Also cast in supporting roles are Arata Iura, Masataka Kubota, Mikako Ichikawa and Yutaka Matsushige. For the drama series, Satomi Ishihara will play forensic doctor Mikoto Misumi and she works at UDI Lab (Unnatural Death Investigation). Her team there attempts to uncover the truth behind various unnatural death cases.

“Unnatural” first airs January, 2018  in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Shinjuku Seven”

Supporting cast announced for upcoming TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Shinjuku Seven” starring Tatsuya Ueda (‘KAT-TUN’). Cast in supporting roles are Tomoya Nakamura, Ito Ono, Maho Nonami, Tetsushi Tanaka and Mari Natsuki. The drama series is set at a pawn shop in Kabukicho and follows genius appraiser Nanase (Tatsuya Ueda).

For the supporting characters, Tomoya Nakamura will play Kenta Ono. He is an apprentice at Nanase’s pawnshop. Ito Ono will play Hana Suigetsu. She is a mysterious character and suffers from memory loss. Maho Nonami will play bar owner Erika Hosho. Tetsushi Tanaka will play Detective Akihito Kondo and, lastly, Mari Natsuki will play gyoza shop owner Shinobu.

“Shinjuku Seven” first airs October 13, 2017 in Japan.
