Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Swan and Bat” (literal title) starring Hokuto Matsumura & Mio Imada. The mystery film is based on 2021 novel “Hakucho to Komori” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Yoshiyuki Kishi (“Sunset Sunrise“). Actors Tomokazu Miura and Shikan Nakamura have been announced to play important supporting characters in the movie. The teaser trailer begins with Tomokazu Miura as Tatsuro Kuraki confessing to a murder by stating “I did everything.”
“Swan and Bat” will be released September 4, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kensuke Shiraishi (Shikan Nakamura) is an upstanding lawyer, but he is found stabbed to death. An investigation leads to Tatsuro Kuraki (Tomokazu Miura) confessing to the murder. The case is considered solved with Tatsuro Kuraki’s confession, but his son, Kazuma Kuraki (Hokuto Matsumura) and the victim’s daughter Mirei Shiraishi (Mio Imada) feel uneasy about Tatsuro Kuraki’s confession. Kazuma Kuraki wonders why his father would commit murder and Mirei Shiraishi wonders why her father was murdered. The two join hands to look into the case.
