Trailer and poster added for movie “Nanashi” starring Jiro Sato, Ryuhei Maruyama, Megumi, and Kuranosuke Sasaki. Movie is based on webcomic “Nanashi” written by Jiro Sato and directed by Hideo Jojo (“A Bad Summer“). Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been announced. The theme song is “Namae” by rapper Novel Core. “Name” is played during the main trailer. Captions in the trailer states (0:09) “Inexplicable and indiscriminate murder case,” (0:19) “Invisible weapon,” (0:30) “Secret hidden in his right hand,” (0:48) “Don’t take eyes of his right hand.”
“Nanashi” will be released May 22, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A mass killing takes place in broad daylight at a restaurant. A middle aged man appears in CCTV footage of the restaurant. He appears to slash people to death, but he doesn’t have anything in his hand. The police are left speechless by the inexplicable and indiscriminate scenes captured by the security camera. While investigating the case, they find out that the suspect’s name is Taro Yamada (Jiro Sato). When the police goes to Taro Yamada’s home address, they find the body of a decomposed woman.
