Main trailer and poster added for movie “Kakukaku Shikajika” starring Mei Nagano and Yo Oizumi. Movie is based on autobiographical manga series “Kakukaku Shikajika” by Akiko Higashimura (“Princess Jellyfish“). The trailer begins with Mei Nagano as Akiko Hayashi stating “I’m the worst student.” The theme song for the movie has also been announced, which is “Message” by girl group MISAMO.
“Kakukaku Shikajika” will be released May 16, 2025 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Akiko Hayashi (Mei Nagano) is a lazy high school student in Miyazaki, who dreams of becoming a popular cartoonist. Her parents recommend that she enrolls in a painting class run by Kenzo Hidaka (Yo Oizumi) and she does so. Kenzo Hidaka is a strict teacher. At first, Akiko Hayashi is frustrated with his harsh methods, but she learns what real effort is. She gradually comes to believe that her dream of becoming a cartoonist will not come true in Miyazaki.
