Yuki Yamada, Sairi Itoh, Shota Sometani, and Atsuro Watabe cast in movie “Bakudan.” The mystery-suspense film is based on 2022 novel “Bakudan” by Katsuhiro Go and directed by Akira Nagai (“After the Rain“). The film will have Yuki Yamada play lead character Ruike. He works for the Metropolitan Police Department. A man is brought to a station and predicts that 3 bomb explosions will occur in Tokyo, one hour apart from each other. He predicts that the first bomb will explode in Akihabara. After a bomb actually explodes in Akihabara, Ruike tries to solve the case. Sairi Itoh, Shota Sometani, and Atsuro Watabe will all play police officers who try help solve the case.
“Bakudan” will be released sometime this year in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A drunk middle-aged man is taken to the police station after assaulting a vending machine at a liquor store and the store’s clerk. He states that his name is Tagosaku Suzuki and he also reveals that he has psychic powers. He mentions that three bomb explosions will occur, one hour after the other, and the first one will happen in Akihabara. The detectives take his words as just ramblings of a drunk man, but, soon after, an explosion occurs in Akihabara, Tokyo. Negotiator Ruike (Yuki Yamada) from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division faces the mysterious man Tagosaku Suzuki.
