Mone Kamishiraishi and Mahiro Takasugi are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Hotei no Dragon.” The drama series features an original screenplay, that is law based, by Masashi Todayama (“The Woman of S.R.I. Season 3“/”Aibou: Season 5“). Mone Kamishiraishi will play the lead character Tatsumi Tendo. Although she pursued her dream of becoming a professional shogi player, an incident turned her attention to the field of law. She begins working for law firm that is on the verge of insolvency.
“Hotei no Dragon” will first air January 17, 2025 in Japan (takes over TV Tokyo’s Friday 9PM time slot after “D&D“).
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kotaro Fuda (Mahiro Takasugi) works as a lawyer and runs his own office titled Fuda Law Office. He inherited his law firm from his late father. He is a kind lawyer and always places his clients first, but his law office is in danger of going out of business. One day, he meets Tatsumi Tendo (Mone Kamishiraishi) at the courthouse. She hands him an envelope that predicts the outcome of the case that he is working on. Her prediction turns out to be accurate. Kotaro Fuda decides to hire her, even though she has no legal experience, on a trial basis. Tatsumi Tendo pursued her dream of becoming a professional shogi player, but an incident led her to be follow the path of a lawyer. She begins to work at Fuda Law Office. She solves cases using strategy she honed from the board game of shogi.
