Yosuke Eguchi and Aju Makita are cast in WOWOW drama series “Dareka ga Kono Machi de.” The mystery drama series is based on 2022 novel “Dareka ga Kono Machi de” by Hiromi San and directed by Yuichi Sato (“Strawberry Night“). For actor Yosuke Eguchi, “Dareka ga Kono Machi de” will be his first lead acting role in a drama series since 2020 NHK drama series “Request to the Angel.” He also worked with Aju Makita earlier this year in Netflix drama series “House of Ninjas.”
“Dareka ga Kono Machi de” consists of 4 episodes and will first air December 8, 2024 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Yuichi Masaki (Yosuke Eguchi) works for a law firm as an investigator. He used to work as a secretary for a politician, but he agonized over his involvement in raising a slush fund and he endured his daughter taking her own life. His daughter’s death left him with a deep emotional wound and regret. He is still unable to overcome the loss of his daughter. One day, a girl named Maki Mochizuki (Aju Makita) visits the law firm and asks for help in finding her family. When she was an infant, she was separated from her parents and she grown up at an orphanage.
Yuichi Masaki and Maki Mochizuki visit the town where she once lived with her family. They learn that there was a case of a boy being kidnapped and murdered in the town. Does that case have anything to do with the disappearance of Maki Mochizuki’s family?
