Oji Suzuka & Honoka Matsumoto cast in Fuji TV drama “Usotoki Rhetoric”

Oji Suzuka and Honoka Matsumoto are cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Usotoki Rhetoric.” The drama series is based on manga series “Usotoki Rhetoric” by Ritsu Miyako. Story for “Usotoki Rhetoric,” is set in the early Show period (around 1930-1940) and follows a private detective played by Oji Suzuka, who is in heavy debt. He comes across a woman played by Honoka Matsumoto who has an ability to tell when people tell lies.

“Usotoki Rhetoric” will first air October 7, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 9PM time slot after “Where does the Sea Begin.”).

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Set in the early Showa era, Soma Iwai (Oji Suzuka) is a private detective and he runs his own detective agency. He is skillful with reasoning and bluffing, but he is downing in debt. He can’t even pay his rent and he often eats free meals at a small restaurant everyday. One day, he happens to meet Kanoko Urabe (Honoka Matsumoto), who has a special ability to detect lies. Kanoko Urabe left her home village due to the people not feeling comfortable with her having the special ability. She collapses on the street due to hunger and she is saved by Soma Iwai. He tells her that her special ability is wonderfully useful and she can make a lot of money with it. He then hires her as his assistant.
