Ryohei Suzuki and Kasumi Arimura are cast in movie “Hana Manma.” The movie is based on 2005 novel “Hana Manma” by Minato Shukawa and directed by Tetsu Maeda (“Do Unto Others“). The novel won the 133rd Naoki Prize in 2005. The movie version adapts the two main characters from the original novel (which was focused on their childhood days) and shows them as adults. The two main characters are old brother Toshiki Kato (Ryohei Suzuki) and younger sister Fumiko Kato (Kasumi Arimura).
“Hana Manma” will be released sometime spring, 2025 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Toshiki Kato (Ryohei Suzuki) and his younger sister Fumiko Kato (Kasumi Arimura) live together in Osaka, Japan. Since they lost their parents at an early age, Toshiki Kato has raised his younger sister Fumiko Kato. He has kept his promise to his late father, which was to always protect his younger sister no matter what. He also cares about Fumiko Kato a lot. With Fumiko Kato deciding to get married, Toshiki Kato should finally be able to take a load off his shoulders, but Fumiko Kato has a secret that she hasn’t told her brother.
