Shinichi Tsutsumi cast in TBS drama series “Messou mo Nai”

Shinichi Tsutsumi, Taishi Nakagawa, Shota Sometani, and Moka Kamishiraishi are cast in TBS drama series “Messou mo Nai.” The drama series is scripted and directed by Takuya Kato (“A Bad Boy Drinks Tea“). The unusual script revolves around 7 mysterious holes that appear in Japan and a man named Ozawa (Shinichi Tsutsumi) who starts a cult that believes the holes are God. Filming for the drama series mixes standard filming on location and also within a studio set that is set up like a theater stage. The first teaser trailer can be viewed at AsianWiki.

“Messou mo Nai” will first air April 16, 2024 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: 7 huge holes suddenly appear in locations around Japan. The holes appear in random places like in the sky, in the middle of a road, in a field, or in the middle of the city. Citizens are confused about the holes and different investigations are carried out about the holes, but the true nature of the holes remain known. As time goes by, people being to live with these holes. Many people go into the holes, but nobody has returned from the holes.

Then, a man named Ozawa (Shinichi Tsutsumi) appears who worships the holes as a god. He insists that salvation can be found in the hole. Eight people gather at a resort facility who are followers of Ozawa. The eight people are Kawabata (Taishi Nakagawa), Sugaya (Shota Sometani), Matsuoka (Moka Kamishiraishi), Aoyama (Kokoro Morita), Watanabe (Kanji Furutachi), Shingo (Tetsu Hirahara), Iguchi (Tomoko Nakajima) and Okamoto (Masataka Kubota). Following Ozawa’s rule, they must talk about why they want to go and record themselves before they enter the hole.
