Toma Ikuta and Yang Ik-June are cast in live-action film “Confession.” The movie is based on manga series “Kokuhaku: Confession” by Nobuyuki Fukumoto and directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita (“My Back Page“). The film will have Toma Ikuta and Yang Ik-June play two adults who are alumni from a university mountain climbing club. They decide to go on a mountain climbing trip to commemorate the death anniversary of a fellow club member. The first teaser trailer and teaser poster has also been added.
“Confession” will be released May, 2024 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Keisuke Asai (Toma Ikuta) and Ryu Ji-Yong (Yang Ik-June) were members of the same university mountain climbing club. 16 years after their graduation, they are still good friends. They decide to go mountain climbing to commemorate the anniversary death of Sayuri Nishida, who was a member of their club. She died 16 years ago in an accident while mountain climbing. During Keisuke Asai and Ryu Ji-Yong’s climb, they encounter a blizzard and get lost in the extreme weather. Ryu Ji-Yong gets injured and he becomes certain that he will die. Keisuke Asai tries to cheer Ryu Ji-Yong to not give up, but Ryu Ji-Yong suddenly makes a shocking confession. They then see a mountain hut where they can take shelter.
