Keiko Kitagawa & Riho Yoshioka are cast in WOWOW drama series “Rakujitsu.” The drama series is based on 2019 novel “Rakujitsu” by Kanae Minato (“Confessions“), screenplay adaptation by Eriko Shinozaki (“The Black Swindler“), and directed by Eiji Uchida (“Offbeat Cops“). The mystery drama series will have Keiko Kitagawa play movie director Kaori Hasebe and Riho Yoshioka play screenwriter Chihiro Kai. The two main characters work together on a movie based on a family murder case that took place 15 years ago.
“Rakujitsu” consists of 4 episodes and will air September, 2023 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kaori Hasebe (Keiko Kitagawa) is a rookie movie director. She consults with new screenwriter Chihiro Kai (Riho Yoshioka) about her movie’s screenplay. The script is based on the Sasazukacho Family Murder Case that occurred 15 years ago. That murder case involved a hikikomori man who murdered his younger sister at their home and then set their home on fire. The fire also killed his parents. The town where the murder took place is also the hometown of Chihiro Kai. Both Kaori Hasebe and Chihiro Kai have secrets related to the family murder case. While Kaori Hasebe and Chihiro Kai look into this murder case for their movie, a shocking truth is uncovered.
