Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A submarine from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force collides with a U.S. nuclear submarine in the ocean near Japan. The Japanese submarine sinks after the collision. The media cover the story of the submarine and its 76 crew members, including Captain Shiro Kaieda (Takao Osawa), who are reported to have died in the accident. The public in Japan are shocked by the news, but, in fact, all 76 crew members of the submarine are alive. The news of the accident is actually a cover for the crew members, who have been stationed to work on the nation’s first nuclear submarine Sea Bat. The nuclear submarine was secretly built in cooperation between Japan and the United States. Despite Japan covering the cost of building the submarine, the ship falls under the command of the United States. Meanwhile, Captain Shiro Kaieda loads the ship with a nuclear missile and disappears into the deep ocean. The United States now views Captain Shiro Kaieda as a terrorist and orders the sinking of the Sea Bat. The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force has their own ship commanded by Hiroshi Fukamachi (Hiroshi Tamaki) attempting to find the Sea Bat before the United States.
