Yuki Yamada and Marika Matsumoto are cast in movie “Yoru, Toritachi ga Naku.” The film is based on short story “Yoru, Toritachi ga Naku” by Yasushi Sato (“Sketches of Kaitan City“) and directed by Hideo Jojo (“Shinjuku Punch“). The film has Yuki Yamada playing struggling novelist Shinichi. Mariki Matsumoto will play Yuko. She is the ex-wife of a friend of Shinichi. She moves into Shinichi’s home with her young son.

“Yoru, Toritachi ga Naku” will be released December 9, 2022 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Shinichi (Yuki Yamada) debuted as a novelist at a young age, but his career has been stagnant for many years. He also has broken up with his girlfriend. His day have now become gloomy. At this time, Yuko (Marika Matsumoto) and her son moves into Shinichi’s home. Yuko is the ex-wife of Shinichi’s friend. Shinichi lets them stay at his house. Shinichi writes his novel every night, while Yuko goes out at night to date men. She is conflicted with her feelings to act as a strong parent and to deal with her unspeakable loneliness.
