Apple TV+ drama series “Pachinko,” starring Youn Yuh-Jung, Soji Arai, Lee Min-Ho, & Jung Eun-Chae, to premiere March 25, 2021 worldwide. In addition, above and below are the first five still images from the drama series. The screenplay is based on 2017 novel “Pachinko” by Lee Min-Jin. The drama series will be told in Korean, Japanese, and English languages, while spanning filming locations from South Korea, Japan, and the United States.
“Pachinko” will consist of 8 total episodes, with the first 3 episodes released on March 25, 2022 and 1 episode released per week afterwards on Friday.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kim Sun-Ja was born and raised in Busan, Korea, when Korea was under Japanese rule. She fell in love with a man named Koh Han-Su. When she learned that Koh Han-Su was married to another woman, she was already pregnant. She is devastated by her situation. A church priest named Baek Isak saves her by marrying her. She and Baek Isak then move to Japan. There, she gives birth to her child. Life for Koreans living in Japan at that time was not easy. As they experience contempt and discrimination at times, they struggle to survive.
