Shotaro Mamiya, Jiro Sato, & Rina Kawaei cast in movie “Henna Ie”

Shotaro Mamiya, Jiro Sato, & Rina Kawaei are cast in mystery-horror film “Henna Ie.” The film is based on 2021 novel “Henna Ie” by Uketsu and directed by Junichi Ishikawa (“Mixed Doubles“). The script will have YouTuber Amemiya (Shotaro Mamiya) and Architect Kurihara (Jiro Sato) try to uncover the secret behind a floor plan for a mysterious home. Rina Kawaei will play Yuzuki, who joins their search. Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer has been added on AsianWiki.

“Henna Ie” will be released March 15, 2024 in Japan.

Rina Kawaei cast in Fuji TV drama “My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought”

Rina Kawaei cast for lead female role in Fuji TV live-action drama series “My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought” co-starring Ryosuke Yamada. The drama series is based on manga series “Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete” by Hajime Inoryuu and directed by Hiroaki Matsuyama (“Liar Game“). For the drama series, Rina Kawaei will play Nami. Her character is an original character and partly based off Rei Shinmyouji from the original manga series. When her friend is murdered, Nami decides to work with Eiji Urashima (Ryosuke Yamada) to find the killer.

“My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought” will first air October, 2022 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10PM time slot after “Teppachi“).

Trailer and poster for movie “Until I Meet September’s Love”

Main trailer and poster added for upcoming movie “Until I Meet September’s Love” starring Issey Takahashi and Haruna Kawaguchi. Movie is based on 2007 novel “Kugatsu no Koi to Deau Made” by Yumi Matsuo and directed by Toru Yamamoto (“G’mor evian!“). Meanwhile, the theme song for the movie has been announced which is “Koi” by rock band Androp. The theme song appears in the main trailer. The trailer begins with captions in Japanese that says “Here is the future 1 year later.” Supporting cast members have also been announced for the film which includes Kenta Hamano, Yuko Nakamura, Rina Kawaei, Yutaro Furutachi and Mickey Curtis.

“Until I Meet September’s Love” is now scheduled for release March 1, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer #2 for movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps”

Teaser trailer #2 added for upcoming movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” starring Ryoko Shinohara and Hidetoshi Nishijima. Movie is based on 2015 novel “Ningyo no Nemuru Ie” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. The movie brings up moral questions on when parents should give up on children deemed brain dead by doctors. Teaser trailer #2 begins with Ryoko Shinohara’s voice stating in Japanese “This child is alive.”

“The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” will be released November 16, 2018 in Japan.

Shinichi Tsutsumi, Yuya Yagira and Rina Kawaei cast in movie “Nakuna Akaoni”

Shinichi TsutsumiYuya Yagira and Rina Kawaei are cast in movie “Nakuna Akaoni.” The film is based on short story “Nakuna Akaoni” by Kiyoshi Shigematsu and directed by Atsushi Kaneshige. In the film, Shinichi Tsutsumi will play former high school baseball coach Takashi Obuchi. He learns a former student (played by Yuya Yagira) has terminal cancer and only 6 months to live. Filming for “Nakuna Akaoni” will begin early next month in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture.

“Nakuna Akaoni” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Takako Tokiwa is cast in NHK live-action drama special “Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms 2018”

Takako Tokiwa is cast in NHK live-action drama special “Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms 2018.” The drama special is based on manga “Yunagi no Machi, Sakura no Kuni” by Fumiyo Kono. The manga was previously adapted into 2007 film “Yunagi City, Sakura Country” with Rena Tanaka cast in the lead role. Also cast in supporting roles in the NHK drama special are Rina Kawaei, Fuka Koshiba, Yuna Taira, Asuka Kudo, Yosuke Asari, Shosuke Tanihara, Shuuji Kashiwabara, Mitsuo Sagawa, Midoriko Kimura and Isao Hashizume. The drama special deals with the effects of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Takako Tokiwa plays Nanami Ishikawa in the present day. She follows her father to Hiroshima due to his unusual behavior. There, she learns about what happened to his older sister.

“Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms 2018” will air August 6, 2018 in Japan (anniversary date of the Hiroshima atomic bombing).

Taiki Sato, Rina Kawaei, Yua Shinkawa cast in live-action film “Sensei Kunshu”

Taiki Sato (‘EXILE’ & ‘FANTASTICS’), Rina KawaeiYua Shinkawa and Riko Fukumoto are cast in supporting roles for upcoming live-action film “Sensei Kunshu.” Ryoma Takeuchi and Minami Hamabe play lead characters in the film, which were announced previously. For the supporting characters:

Taiki Sato plays Kotake Sawada. He is the childhood friend of Ayuha Samaru (Minami Hamabe) and he likes her secretly.

Rina Kawaei plays Aoi Nakamura. She is friends with Ayuha Samaru and she is an otaku.

Yua Shinkawa plays Aika Saimon. She is childhood friends with Yoshitaka Hiromitsu (Ryoma Takeuchi) and she is pianist.

Riko Fukumoto plays Kaho.

In addition, “Sensei Kunshu” is now scheduled to be released August 1, 2018 in Japan. “Sensei Kunshu” is based on manga “Sensei Kunshu” by Momoko Koda.

Rina Kawaei cast in movie “Koi no Shizuku”

Rina Kawaei (former ‘AKB48’ member) is cast for the lead female role in movie “Koi no Shizuku” (literally “Love’s Water Drop”). Hayato Onozuka is cast to play the lead male character and cast in supporting roles are Mao Miyaji, Tsunenori Aoki, Tomoya Warabino, Kanji Tsuda and Mantaro Koichi. Movie is directed by Naoki Segi and filming will begin next month in Hiroshima, Japan. Story for the film has Rina Kawaei playing agriculture student Shiori Tachibana. She goes to Hiroshima to receive training at a sake brewery.

“Koi no Shizuku” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
