Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Tantei Mitarai no Jikenbo Seiro no Umi”

Teaser trailer and poster added for upcoming movie “Tantei Mitarai no Jikenbo Seiro no Umi” starring Hiroshi Tamaki & Alice Hirose. Movie is based on novel “Seiro no Umi” by Soji Shimada and directed by Seiji Izumi (“Aibou“). The title of the film originally followed the novel with “Seiro no Umi Tantei Mitarai no Jikenbo” but then changed to “Tantei Mitarai no Jikenbo Seiro no Umi.” The poster reveals that the movie is set for release June 4, 2016 in Japan.

KBS2 drama series “Moorim School” shortened to 16 episodes from 20 episodes

KBS2 drama series “Moorim School,” starring Shin Hyun-Joon, Lee Hyun-Woo, Seo Ye-Ji, Hong Bin & Jeong Eu-Gene, has been shortened to 16 episodes from its originally planned 20 episodes. The drama series was shortened due to low TV ratings and conflict over production costs between network KBS and production company JSpictures. The drama series will now finish on March 1, 2016 instead of March 15, 2016. The following drama series “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-Ho” will still premiere on March 21, 2016 as originally planned. KBS2 will now air a short 4 episode drama series “Babysitter” between the final episode of “Moorim School” and the first episode of “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-Ho.”

Rena Tanaka cast for movie “Katsuragi Case”

Actress Rena Tanaka is cast for upcoming movie “Katsuragi Case” (literal title) starring Tomokazu Miura, Kaho Minami, Hirofumi Arai & Ryuya Wakaba. Movie is written and directed by Masaaki Akahori (“The Samurai That Night“). Premise for the film follows the Katsuragi family. Their 21-year-old son Minoru (Ryuya Wakaba) kills 8 people and goes on death row. Actress Rena Tanaka will play Junko Hoshino. Her character is opposed to the death penalty and she decides to marry Minoru to show her opposition to the death penalty.

“Katsuragi Case” will be released sometime this summer in Japan.

Tina Tamashiro cast in movie “Sadako vs Kayako”

Actress Tina Tamashiro is cast in upcoming horror film “Sadako vs Kayako” starring Mizuki Yamamoto.

In “Sadako vs Kayako,” Tina Tamashiro will play Suzuka. Her character is a high school student. Due to her parents’ work, her family moves opposite to a mysterious ruins. Rumors swirl that if anybody goes into the ruins, that person will be cursed and die. Suzuka becomes a target of the crazed Kayako who lives within the ruins. This is the first time Tina Tamashiro will act in a horror film.

“Sadako vs Kayako” will be released June, 2016 in Japan.

Tsuyoshi Abe cast in live-action film “Assassination Classroom: Graduation”

Tsuyoshi Abe is cast in upcoming live-action film “Assassination Classroom: Graduation” starring Ryosuke Yamada, Masaki Suda & Maika Yamamoto. He will join other well known actors Kazunari Ninomiya, Mirei Kiritani & Hiroki Narimiya in appearing in the film in supporting roles. Inmovie “Assassination Classroom: Graduation,” Tsuyoshi Abe wil play Sniper Red Eye. The Ministry of Defense sends Sniper Red Eye to kill Teacher Koro.

“Assassination Classroom: Graduation” will be released March 25, 2016 in Japan.

Jang Keun-Suk, Lim Ji-Yeon and Yeo Jin-Goo offered leading roles in SBS drama series “Daebak”

Jang Keun-Suk, Lim Ji-Yeon and Yeo Jin-Goo have been offered leading roles in upcoming SBS period drama series “Daebak.” The title of the drama series “Daebak” has two meanings in South Korea: “jackpot” or “cool.” All three performers are currently considering the offers.

If Jang Keun-Suk accepts, he will play Baek Dae-Gil. His character is a gambler. If Lim Ji-Yeon accepts, she will play Dam-Seo. Her character is driven solely to exact revenge on the King. If Yeo Jin-Goo accepts, he will play King Yeongjo.

“Daebak” first airs this March in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Six Flying Dragons“).

Teaser poster and supporting cast for WOWOW drama series “Whose Is the Cuckoo’s Egg?”

Here’s the first teaser poster for upcoming WOWOW drama series “Whose Is the Cuckoo’s Egg?” starring Tao Tsuchiya. The drama series is based on 2010 novel “Kakko no Tamago wa Dare no Mono” by Keigo Higashino. In addition, newly revealed supporting cast members include Tsuyoshi Ihara, Kanata Hongo & Shigeyuki Totsugi.

In the drama series, Tsuyoshi Ihara will play Hiromasa Hida. His character is a former top skier and father of Kazami’s (Tao Tsuchiya).

Kanata Hongo  will play Fumiya Kamijo. His character holds a key to the story.

Shigeyuki Totsugi will play Yosuke Yuzuki. He is cold hearted gene researcher.

“Whose Is the Cuckoo’s Egg?” first airs March 27, 2016 in Japan.
