Atsuko Maeda cast in TBS drama series “Busujima Yuriko no Sekirara Nikki”

Atsuko Maeda (ex-AKB48 member) is cast in upcoming TBS drama series “Busujima Yuriko no Sekirara Nikki” (literally “Yuriko Busujima’s Naked Diary”). Also cast in supporting roles are Hirofumi Arai, Daichi Watanabe, Shizuka Nakamura, Masayasu Yagi & Goki Maeda.

In drama series “Busujima Yuriko no Sekirara Nikki,” Atsuko Maeda plays Yuriko Busujima. Her character holds a deep mistrust of men and because of this she always dates two guys at the same time. This is because if one guy betrays her, she will have the other guy to fall back on. She works as a reporter and is assigned to follow a well known politician. She soon realizes that politics is a lot like love.

“Busujima Yuriko no Sekirara Nikki” first airs April 20, 2016 in Japan.

Yuko Oshima cast in NHK drama series “Sunshiny Asa”

Yuko Oshima (ex-AKB48 member) is cast in currently airing NHK asadora “Sunshiny Asa.” The drama series stars Haru, Aoi Miyazaki and Hiroshi Tamaki.

For Yuko Oshima, this will be her first time appearing in a morning drama series. She will play Raicho Hiratsuka in the drama series. Her character attempts to raise the social status of women.

Yuko Oshima will appear in episodes 150, 152 and 153 which corresponds to March 26th, 29th and 30th, 2016.

First still images of Youn Yuh-Jung & Kim Go-Eun in movie “Canola”

Here’s the first still images of Youn Yuh-Jung & Kim Go-Eun in upcoming movie “Canola” (English title). Movie is directed by Chang (“The Target“). Setup for the film has Kim Go-Eun playing a troubled teen who went missing for 12 years as she stays with her grandmother played by Youn Yuh-Jung. The grandmother works as a hanyeo (traditional female diver) in Jeju.

In addition, release date for “Canola” is not slotted for sometime this May in South Korea.

First script reading for SBS drama series “Jackpot”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Jackpot” starring Jang Keun-Suk, Yeo Jin-Goo and Lim Ji-Yeon took place February 15, 2016 in South Korea. The first script reading took about 5 hours to finish. The drama series is set in the 18th century and revolves around Dae-Gil (Jang Keun-Suk) and Prince Yeoning (Yeo Jin-Goo). Dae-Gil was abandoned under the misunderstanding that he might not be King Sookjong’s son and Prince Yeoning’s attempt to become the King for his own survival.

“Jackpot” first airs March 28, 2016 in South Korea.
