Launching poster and release date set for Disney+ drama series “Low Life” starring Ryu Seung-Ryong, Yang Se-Jong, and Lim Soo-Jung. The drama series is based on webcomic “Pain” by Yoon Tae-Ho (“Misaeng: Incomplete Life“), which is based on a true incident from 1970’s involving a sunken treasure ship. Caption on the launching poster states “In the year 1977, the scent of money arises from the waters of Shinan.”
“Low Life” will consist of 11 episodes and the first 3 episodes will premiere on July 16, 2025. 2 episodes per week will then follow until August 13, 2025.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Since Oh Hee-Dong (Yang Se-Jong) was little, his uncle Oh Gwan-Seok (Ryu Seung-Ryong) looked after him and led him into the criminal world. Oh Gwan-Seok will do anything to make money and he doesn’t care whether it is legal or not. Oh Hee-Dong now works for his uncle. One day, Oh Gwan-Seok receives a request. The request is to salvage treasures from a sunken ship off the waters of Shinan, South Jeolla Province. Oh Gwan-Seok senses an opportunity to make a fortune, but rumors and gossip about the ship attracts all sorts of people to the area.
