Major supporting actors announced for Netflix drama series “Show Business” starring Song Hye-Kyo and Gong Yoo. Announced to play the major supporting roles are Seol Hyun, Cha Seung-Won, and Lee Ha-Nee. They will play characters who are connected with Song Hye-Kyo’s Min-Ja character and Gong Yoo’s Dong-Gu character. The screenplay is set from the 1960’s to the 1980’s and revolves around the entertainment industry. The drama series is scripted by No Hee-Kyung, who most recently wrote the screenplay for “Our Blues” and wrote the screenplays for “That Winter, The Wind Blows” and “Worlds Within……,” which starred Song Hye-Kyo. The drama series is also directed by Lee Yoon-Jung, who worked with Seol Hyun in drama series “Summer Strike” and Gong Yoo in “Coffee Prince.”
Filming for “Show Business” began January 12, 2025.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Set within the South Korean entertainment industry from the 1960’s through the 1980’s.
Min-Ja (Song Hye-Kyo) experienced all sort of hardships while growing up. Due to her troubles, she has a stronger inner will than almost anyone else. While living her tough life, she sees an opportunity in the Korean music industry and boldly throws herself there.
Dong-Gu (Gong Yoo) has been friends with Min-Ja since they were children. They went through a lot of turmoil together. Although he has an unpredictable personality, he listens to everything that Min-Ja has to say. He also enters the music industry with Min-Ja.
Min-Hee (Seol Hyun) has been in a love-hate relationship with Min-Ja since she was a child. She follows what Min-Ja says to her, but Min-Hee develops both a clever and rebellious side.
Gil-Yeo (Cha Seung-Won) is a magnate in the music industry. He is one of the greatest song composers of his time and all the singers he worked with found success.
Yang-Ja (Lee Ha-Nee) is Min-Hee’s mother. She is still dreaming of become a singer, despite her difficult situation.
