Jung Kyoung-Ho and So Ju-Yeon are cast in tvN drama series “Pro Bono” (working title). The drama series will show a comical court room drama about a former judge, played by Jung Kyoung-Ho, who becomes a public interest lawyer, and a geeky public interest lawyer played by So Ju-Yeon. They work together for a nonprofit in a corner of a building that doesn’t even get sunlight. “Pro Bono” is written by Moon Yoo-Seok (“Ms. Hammurabi“) and directed by Kim Sung-Yoon (“Itaewon Class“).
“Pro Bono” will first air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kang Da-Wit (Jung Kyoung-Ho) is an ambitious judge on the fast track. Due to his perfect work and neat image, he is an influencer in the legal field and has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. An unexpected event causes him to resign from his job. He decides to start as a public interest lawyer for a non-profit organization known as Pro Bono. There, he meets Park Ki-Bbeum (So Ju-Yeon) who is a public interest lawyer. She is a geek in the field of law and likes to dig deeply when she becomes interested in something. She believes that a lawyer’s mission is to protect human rights and realize social justice. Kang Da-Wit and Park Ki-Bbeum, who both belong to public interest team of the Pro Bono association, use money, that is earned by defending conglomerates, to defend victims in desperate situations and realize justice for them.
