Toshiaki Karasawa is cast for the lead role in movie “Mystery Arena.” Movie is based on 2015 novel “Mystery Arena” by Reiichiro Fukami and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“Sanada 10 Braves “). The original novel won the “Honkaku Mystery Best 10” award in 2016. Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer and poster has also been released for the movie. Caption on the teaser poster states “If you figure out the culprit, ten billion yen (could be yours).”
“Mystery Arena” will be released May 22, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Momotaro Kabayama (Toshiaki Karasawa) is a host of a live mystery quiz show. After a series of unanswerable mystery questions fails to a find correct answer, the carryover prize money soars to ten billion yen. This time, the question is “A murder case that took place in an isolated western style mansion during a storm.” Can the six selected participants, selected for their deductive reasoning abilities, solve the question?
