Yosuke Sugino and Nao Omori cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama “Mountain Doctor”

Yosuke Sugino and Nao Omori are cast in Fuji TVKTV drama series “Mountain Doctor.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Yuya Takahashi (“Yuya Takahashi“) and directed by Masahiro Kunimoto (“Ms. Kanna!“). Setting for the drama series is set around Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture and filming will also takes place there and on the surrounding mountains. Yosuke Sugino will play the lead character Ayumu Miyamoto, who returns to his hometown and becomes a member of the mountain medical treatment team. Nao Omori will play major supporting character Gakuto Emori. He also works at the same hospital and on the same mountain medical treatment team as Ayumu Miyamoto.

“Mountain Doctor” will first air July 8, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 10 PM time slot after “Unmet“).

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Ayumu Miyamoto (Yosuke Sugino) is a young orthopedic surgeon. He goes back to his hometown in Nagano Prefecture and begins to work at the general hospital there. In addition to working as an orthopedic surgeon, he is ordered to join the mountain medical treatment team. The team provides treatment for patients who became sick or injured while in the mountains. The medical team members need to have knowledge about both the mountain and medicine. They are called mountain doctors because of this. Ayumu Miyamoto is not passionate about his duties on the mountain medical team. Things change as he works more with the team members. Meanwhile, Gakuto Emori (Nao Omori) is a circulatory physician who works at the same hospital and is a member of the medical treatment team. Although Gakuto Emori does his job well, he has trauma from his past that he tries to overcome.
