Masataka Kubota, Shota Matsuda and Maika Yamamoto cast in live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul 2”

Masataka Kubota, Shota Matsuda and Maika Yamamoto are cast in live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul 2.” The film is a sequel to 2017 film “Tokyo Ghoul” and is also based on manga series “Tokyo Ghoul” by Sui Ishida.

For “Tokyo Ghoul 2,” Masataka Kubota will reprise his role of Ken Kaneki who is half-ghoul and half-human. He hides out at cafe Anteiku. Meanwhile, Maika Yamamoto will play the role of Toka Kirishima. She takes over that role vacated by Fumika Shimizu who played Toka Kirishima in the 2017 film. Lastly, Shota Matsuda will play new character Shu Tsukiyama. He is known as the “Gourmet” and is a very powerful ghoul. Shu Tsukiyama did not appear in the 2017 film version.

Filming for “Tokyo Ghoul 2” will begin October, 2018 and the movie will be released sometime next year in Japan. A teaser trailer for “Tokyo Ghoul 2” can be viewed at AsianWiki.
