Yo Yoshida, Reo Sano (‘GENERATIONS’) and Nijiro Murakami are cast in movie “Hanalei Bay.” Movie is based on short story”Hanalei Bay” by Haruki Murakami and directed by Daishi Matsunaga (“Pieta in the Toilet“). Story for the film follows a mother played by Yo Yoshida who lost her son to a shark attack in Hawaii while he was surfing. She goes to the bay where her son died every year. There, she hears of a young man who sounds like her son.

Mugi Kadowaki is cast for the lead role in upcoming live-action film “Chiwawa-chan.” The movie is based on manga of same name by Kyoko Okazaki (“River’s Edge“/”Helter Skelter“) and directed by Ken Ninomiya. Also cast in supporting roles are Ryo Narita, Kanichiro, Tina Tamashiro, Shiori Yoshida, Nijiro Murakami, Chiaki Kuriyama, and Tadanobu Asano. The film follows the death of a girl named “Chiwawa” whose dead body is found in pieces in Tokyo Bay. The film follows her friends who gather to remember her, but realize they didn’t know her well.
Filming for “Chiwawa-chan” began March 23, 2018 and the movie will be released sometime next year via Kadokawa Pictures.

Akari Hayami and Tetsushi Tanaka are cast in upcoming TV Tokyo drama series “Dead Stock” starring Nijiro Murakami. Also cast in supporting roles are Mariko Tsutsui and Yuko Nakamura. For drama series “Dead Stock,” Akari Hayami will play Saori Nikaido. She works as a director at a broadcasting station and she hates to lose. Tetsushi Tanaka will play Satoru Sayama. He is a veteran director. Main character Riku Tsuneta (Nijiro Murakami) works as an AD and is tasked with going through archive film. He uncovers a supernatural event.

Nijiro Murakami is cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Dead Stock.” This will be Nijiro Murakami’s first time playing a lead character in a drama series. In the drama series “Dead Stock,” Nijiro Murakami will play Riku Tsuneta. He gets hired as a rookie AD at broadcasting station and is assigned to work through old material the TV station. Riku Tsuneta then uncovers footage of an unnatural phenomenon.

Storu for “The Miracles of the Namiya General Store” revolves around a mailbox at a general store that sends letter between the past and present. Poster for upcoming movie “Mukoku” starring Gou Ayano & Nijiro Murakami. Movie is based on 2012 novel “Mukoku” by Shu Fujisawa and directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri. Story for the film revolves around kendo athlete Kengo Yatabe (Gou Ayano) who loses the will to live due to an incident. Nijiro Murakami plays Tooru Haneda. He is a high school student who likes rap music and talented in kendo.
